I can't explain why, but I instantly developed a very good feeling about some company when I landed on their web site last night.

The opening message simply said: "Welcome, we've been waiting for you."

What a nice, short piece of copy with a powerful psychological hook.

What's the first thing your visitors see?

    Yup that's a nice headline, but I won't use that on my long copy sales pages though. Maybe in the opening paragraph perhaps.

    It does give a warm feeling as you said.

    I did something like this on "download pages" of my product, and it basically says: "Thanks for being our Customer Of The Year" with a short thank you note.

    I got a lot of email from my clients who says the actually like the initiative that i took to build rapport with them :-)
