SALES PAGE - missing testimonials

Hi all

Im composing a salespage and the programmer is waiting for me to put it up.

Heres my question:

If im not ready yet, is it possible to ask her to do basic salespage ie:

-headline
-copy

and then later ask her to amend it?

And when i say amend, im talking about uploading testimonials, which i dont have at present but will do at a later point , hopefully.

Thanks

Greg

PS my reason for getting the salespage done now and not when ive got all the testimonials is because if i wait, it'll take forever. A semicomplete salespage would motivate me to finish sooner

Yea of course you can do that. testimonials are a bonus 'buzz' to the page, but just because you dont have them on, doesnt mean the sales page wont convert.

In the meantime, while the testimonials are being made, upload the sales page. Why waste visitors by not having your page up, waiting for the sales page?

And many sales pages without testimonials do well, + also many sales pages get modified within months of them being uploaded, so you are doing something which many people have done before.

go for it, upload it.... and Good luck!

I think it would be better to provide the basic template now so adding what you are missing will be easy. Just use some text as a filler for now.

Missing testimonials is better than a missing sales page.

Means you can start getting traffic, start testing.

If you don't want to deal all the time with the "programmer" (btw, what is to 'program' in a html webpage???) just tell them to insert the testimonial box code where it would be appropriate - but commented out.

That means they should put around it <!-- and -->
Whatever is in between will not show up in the browsers.

They can also leave a line there for you: TESTIMONIAL GOES HERE and when you get some, you just simple copy/paste the text in the box(es) and remove the <!-- and -->

    Done.
