Best PC Screenshot Video Software

Hey all......

What video software do you guys mostly to take videos of what is on your PC screens, such as for a PowerPoint presentation or just whatever?
Oh and do they include audio to record my voice as part of the presentation.

Looking for something good to create videos on what's on the PC and then upload to YouTube.

A common and popular one is CamtasiaSudio, they have a 30 full trial (I think they still have it)

CamStudio is a free alternative. Some people even prefer it
to Camtasia.

Jing is also an option - they are free I believe but I have not used them myself.

CamStasia - premium screen capture with extra features and video editing but cost money

CamStudio - great free alternative, MUST adjust settings tho, you get much better video after a few tweaks, just search it on google

Jing - great free alternative, 5 minute videos max I believe

I like Jing. I use the Pro version, which costs peanuts vs. Camtasia, but it has a 5-minute limit. That's actually good for me because it forces me to get my points across succinctly (hard for me). And the files are smaller (usually under 10mb). AND you can upload directly to YouTube. AND you get a free Screencast account that integrates (both are TechSmith products). AND you can choose between MP4 and flash. Very very nice for basic screen capturing with easy functionality and low price ($15/year).

Camtasia goes for $300 last time I checked. Yowzers! Anyone know of a way to get it on discount?

  I completely forgot I have Ubuntu operating system now with a Windows Virtual machine. I tried looking through the Linux software options and couldn't find much except something called "Istanbul".
  I wonder if there is something else that would operate on Linux that is free and captures screen video?
  
  I do like the Jing and CamStudio options though
