Need help on Internet Marketing

Hi everyone,

I heard very much on Internet Marketing . I went through many online documents and google too. But it was quite difficult to understand what exactly it is?

Can anyone make me understand this in a better way?

It would be great help, really.

    Just keep reading forum posts. That's how you learn. Then when you have an idea run with it and see what you can do.

    But before you take action, make some kind of measurable plan.

    Internet Marketing is not all that different from offline marketing where you build a relationship with customers and then advertise and eventually sell them a product. It could be a product of your own in which that would make you the vendor or it could be someone elses product that you are selling which would make you the affiliate.

    In a nutshell, it is a buisiness where you market products online for which in turn you make sales and a profit.

    There are so many variables to Internet marketing and how it is done such as email marketing, digital products, pay-per-click advertising, that I just cannot list them all.

    I am sure you will receive many more replies to this post which other definitions but this is just my take on it.

      Yes, there is different business models that you can work with and the best thing to do is to NOT ask the which one is making more money since all of them are completely different from the other one, i know that you might hate this word but it really all "depends" ...

      You can work as an Internet marketing advisor, where you build a list of people who are interested in Internet marketing and e-mail them with the industry updates and new products and recommend good products and make commissions from sales of the recommendations, ( this one can work in any niche, you can do the same idea in the health and weight loss market, or cell phones,skin care,software ...)

      Be a Niche search engine marketer, where you can build websites around specific keywords and do SEO for the site and get organic traffic from the search engines and sell digital or physical products to that traffic .

      Make your own service or membership site, if you are good at something, maybe Photoshop, you can make a member ship site where you put quality PS tutorials every week and charge people monthly fee .

      Or maybe just start with doing random affiliate marketing like most people do, pick a good product and promote it using video sites and articles and yahoo answers and facebook groups and web 2.0 properties and blogs ....

      And the list could go longer than you can imaging because it's the Internet and there is no limits to what you can do to make money, but it's gonna be cool if you can take it step by step and goal by goal, and if you are patient enough you will soon be there making a great living online,

      Everybody were where you are right now, and look at them today, look at all the great member of the WF who are making money, if all this people can do it, you can do it too

    As one of the replies said, internet marketing is either selling your own product(s) or other peoples products, this being known as affiliate marketing. You will need to decide which one you want to do, and go from there. If you already know or have something in mind, do major keyword research to find out if there is a market for it. If so, create a domain name for a website based on the best keyword and then think about building your site. That can be a big job, but it doesn't have to be. Then there is the work of learning how to get traffic to your site once it is up and running, and you will have to learn how to do that.... and that can be a challenge. Many, and maybe most, people start online doing affiliate marketing because you do not need a website since you are selling the products of other people who have the websites. You still have the job of knowing how to drive traffic to those sites. If you decide to go this route, I would check out internet training at a site called wealthyaffiliate where you can get really good training to become an affiliate. It is reasonably priced, and will teach you everything to get started online.

    I like to think the best about people but this forum is starting to look like a bunch of people selling shovels. Seems like they are selling get rich quick items to those that think they can page rank high with some sneaky methods. Or search out a hidden jewel keyword that hasnt been thought of in the last 20 years of internet. I see people offering big bucks for referrals of people looking to learn internet marketing. Does anyone actually buy stuff on here and move thier own website up that sells a real product and not some ebooks or software to sell ebooks or some other shove. Some one please tell me this is a real site.

    You CAN make money on the net; there's an enormous amount to be made. But there is work involved.

    You can find niches and advertise on PPC for keywords, and either sell your own stuff (or resale rights products) or do affiliate marketing. It works.

    You can boost your website rankings for keywords that convert with SEO. It works.

    You can run your own affiliate programme. It works.

    You don't even need to sell anything other than ad space on blogs - the AdSense model. It works.

    The trouble with most people is they see something new coming out, and they get infected by the buzz, and think "I must have that!" So they go and get that product, try out the techniques outlined for half a day or so, find out that that doesn't work because they haven't put enough time into it, and then something new from another marketer comes along that they've "just got to have."

    There also happen to be plenty of good copywriters in the internet marketing niche. They know how to push the right buttons to get you to push the Pay Now button.

    I don't make a full-time living, but I make a respectable amount of money from internet marketing. 4 figures. There are certain things that I know I'm not good at, such as social marketing, so I don't do those things. If I spent time trying to learn how to do everything, I'd never get anything done.

    And there's nothing wrong with selling shovels!

    Hi Pldata
    You need to first of all forget all those adds that you see saying thing like "I made millions in hours, weeks or months and so can you"

    If those things worked we would all have brought them.

    Internet marketing means hard work and many months, sometimes years of work before you see any profits or money at all. In saying that though if you stick at it and allow yourself to learn you can make a substantial income.

    A good place to start is write down what you are good at, what subjects interest you, what skills you have, and most important what are you really passionate about. If you are passionete about something it becomes easier to become an internet marketer within the niche of that passion.

    If you need any more help ask again in the forum or send me a message. The knowledge is all here you just need to do a bit of work to find it
