Amazon Widget Leads to Slow Load Time ...

I have been using the carousel widget for Amazon and noticed that on my computer it is taking a lot longer to load. I am under the impression that this will have a really negative impact on SEO ... what is your experience?

I use a 160x600 carousel, so I just checked my load time.

Opens fast, but then I use W3 Total Cache on my WP sites.

BTW, to those still using Super Cache. I tried W3 a few months ago and it's much better, so I switched all my sites from Super Cache to W3 Total Cache.

I am using Joomla and tried to load the site at my pubic library ... real slow. However, when I try it at home it is much faster.

It loads faster at home because you'll have much of your site stored in your browser cache. What happened at the library will be indicative of what a user coming to your site for the first time will encounter in terms of load time.

        At least that's my understanding.

That is a good point. The strange thing is that it loaded much slower when I ran through the sites with the carousel widgets the first time but after a few times it ran much faster??? Weird.
