Ezine Articles Question - About Affiliate Pages

EzineArticles.com Editorial Guidelines: (AFFILIATE PROGRAMS):

Affiliate links will be allowed if the link is a domain name you own which forward/redirects to the affiliate link from the top-level of the domain name. For example, it is permissible to forward to an affiliate link from:

News & Ezine Strategies For Email Newsletter Publishers & Permission-Based Email Marketers

...but it would not be permissible to forward to an affiliate link from:

News & Ezine Strategies For Email Newsletter Publishers & Permission-Based Email Marketers
News & Ezine Strategies For Email Newsletter Publishers & Permission-Based Email Marketers
News & Ezine Strategies For Email Newsletter Publishers & Permission-Based Email Marketers
http://sub-domain.your-company-name.com/

Any article with an affiliate link that does not adhere to this guideline will cause the article to be rejected.
I have an article that I want to have published on EZ but I don't have a website as dictated above. I normally use www.mywebsite.com/Recommends/...etc so how can I get around this without the article being rejected?

Thanks

Brian

  • I don't think anyone is replying here because they don't have an answer for you. I'd be one of them. Reading their guidelines, I have no clue how you would do it. I know they are sticklers now about affiliate links so no matter what "scheme" you devise is unlikely to work.

Do you own a domain in the niche - or could you buy one? If so, I would just create a simple landing page that would maybe presell the affiliate product/service. I know this creates another step for the reader to take to get to the affiliate offer but I don't see any other way around it.

As far as I know, there is no way around it. As Travis suggested, you are either going to have to buy a domain to redirect from, or build a simple pre-sell landing page. You can get .info domains for $0.99 at Godaddy and they would be fine if all you're doing is redirecting to an affiliate offer.
