How Do I Attract Affiliate Marketers?

Hi

I have just launched a new product on Clickbank and am looking for guidance on how to find affiliates to sell it.

I have made 2 sales from 26 visits to the site using my own (limited) capabilities. There are many affiliates who would be much better at this that I am but how do I find them?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Looks like you have a great product there... some good testimonials too!

The one thing I noticed was the lack of reference to an affiliate program. I found it by hunch. If you want affiliates, you have to make it easy for them.

I might suggest you check out the free report I just released on this subject. It will give you some insight into building an affiliate center, not just a simple affiliate program.

I think that many factors are involved here. First there is commission. A commission of 75% or thereabouts will yield more interest than products that offer 50% or less.

A good sales page with video, real testimonials, video testimonials etc.

A great product that is well layed out and portrayed.

Some kind of rep, usually on the 'good' side, lol. An affiliate needs to be able to trust your business accumin and practice.

The list could go on and on I guess. If you offer value, can be trusted and can earn them money then you should make money with your product.

What I would say though is don't sit back and wait for them to get in touch, you may have a long wait. Get in touch, tell them what you are about and what you have to offer. Work with them. If they don't work with you on this product, they may work with you on your next.

I would start contacting other marketers and offer them review copies and make them aware of your affiliate program.

Sign up for a new email account and keep it only for this task so you can keep control of responses.

I'd then set-up an excel spreadsheet showing who you have contacted, if they have responded, if they need a friendly follow-up email, if they say yes or if they say no.

I'd also set-up a seperate account in your autoresponder for JV's and affiliates only so you can supply them with updates to any more sales material you can provide to help them make more commissions. This also makes it easier to contect them again to ask if they are interested in signing up as an affiliate on your future projects.

A good way to do this is check your email account and go through all the marketers that you are a subscriber or a past buyer of and break the ice by referencing their work.

Also, another good way is to find top selling products and go through the testimonials on their sales pages. Almost everytime, a marketer who gives a product testimonial has their domain name mentioned, so you can contact them too, view their sales page and find their testimonials etc. etc. then it snowballs.

This is a quick and effective way to start letting people know about you and your product(s).

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

I am an affiliate and I would not promote that offer because of this:

The sales page don't look clean and professional. One of the important factors when choosing an product is how the page looks like.

Secondly: You have to have an affiliate page with information. How it converts, how much commission you are giving, keywords, articles, copy etc..

And get the commission up to 75%...

And a sneaky tactic, start to promote yourself with an affiliate site and get the gravity up. I hope you understand what I mean..

Another good idea is to place sponsored ads with clickbank directly so that affiliates will see your program.

Joint venture with other product owners in your niche where
you cross-promote each other on your download page,
    in your autoresponders, etc.

Offer to do interviews with those who host radio shows
on platforms like blog talk radio... suggesting that the
interviewer use an affiliate link during the interview/show.

Put a page in your product and/or follow up autoresponders
pointing out that you have an affiliate program.

Use the search engines... or specialty software to locate
the top affiliates targeting your keywords. Contact them
directl... by email, phone, snail mail, courier package, at
    live events, etc.

Always approach potential affiliates answering the question
what's in it for them, and why your product instead of
their own, or that of another affiliate.

Make it incredibly easy for them to sign up as affiliates,
to get affiliate tools, and to check stats.

    Just a few random thoughts.

Check out James Penn in this thread
    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...-act-fast.html

Study what he's doing for his affiliates, and duplicate it. I'm not saying you need to pay 100% commissions, but refine your offer as he did to produce better conversions, and don't exaggerate your numbers.

Of the last four offers I've promoted, this one FAR outperformed the others.

    And guess what?

He says in his second post in that thread that after tweaking his offer, JV traffic was converting at 7%. I just checked my stats, and the traffic I sent to the offer converted at 7.4%.

You know what I did in turn?

Told the members of a mastermind group I'm in about a good low priced affiliate opportunity that converted well.

Thanks to everyone who has kindly taken the time to pass on their ideas.

A consistent theme is the commission rate. I am challenged here because I am marketing an eBook for the Author. The bulk of the commission goes to him. My time and effort earns me very little if an affiliate makes the sale.

Thanks again. I am going away now to digest everything you have said.

I am of course happy to hear from others who may have ideas too.

      Hi John

Thanks a lot for mentioning me. I really appreciate it.

I try to give the best visitor value as possible for my affiliates and I'm glad you had a good experience.

It was exciting after your promotion went out. Sales were flying in every few minutes, and then I noticed more and more affiliates promoting. That must of been you referring me to your mastermind members!

      I really appreciate it!

      Thanks a lot,
      James

Take note of what Willie said - great tips.

Making your sales page look and flow great along with going overboard to make an affiliate's job easy are paramount. Give your affiliates anything that could possibly be a barrier to them - give them videos, audio, autoresponders, banners, aff link generator, etc..,. This is an area too many products skimp on - you need to over-deliver.

Find bloggers in your niche contact them if they have a way offer them a free copy of your product in exchange for them writing up a review on it. Not only will this increase your visibility but can produce more and more sales for you as well.

I agree with the others. You might want to include a more prominent reference to the affiliate program on your sales page, and if you're only offering 50% commission currently you might want to increase it to 60% or more. In addition to that, one thing that could really spice it up for prospective affiliates is to have a bigger-ticket OTO (one time offer) product that sells for $97 or more on the back end, or offer some kind of monthly continuity program where you charge a subscription fee, thus giving your affiliates monthly recurring commissions. I think method #2 would be best for you, as you could probably do monthly interviews or webinars with people in your field without too much trouble. Do not underestimate the value of this to people in your niche, as I am of the opinion that the majority of them are looking to reach out to and interact with people who can help them, and interactive webinars would be a great way to accomplish that.

This seems to me as an important point generally
Instead of linking your homepage to other websites , your content pages should be linked to other sites that you would like to have rank better in the search engines. By getting a link that points directly to a content page, you are showing the engines: 1.This site contains useful content, 2. This exact content page is seen as important by someone else on the internet

I will soon be in the same boat with my first ebook. What I've learned here is that the sales page is crucial, because it must be professional and give you the best chance to convert. With that said, I probably need to revisit what I've done since I'm really not very happy with it.

    Good luck!

Create an affiliate info page and place link in footer area and also provide promotional material like banners, text ads etc... That may attract more affiliates

...or do a free version of your product (with the link to the full version and affiliate sign up page) and start giving away! If it's a good product - you'll see the interest. There are many free giveaways around... contribute. And there are OTOs that will bring even more attention to your product.
