Hi this is my first post, so bear with me. I am a complete novice in the marketing world. So if you could help me in which system would be the best to start with and build on, of course makes money in the process.
I would prefer a complete system that teaches you what to do, how to do it.
I see a lot of systems on here, but it is hard to know which one will help the best and that I could understand.
I think I have got confused with all the information you have here.
Thanks in advance

So you need an online and search engine marketing plan, right?

...which means you already have a business plan, right?

So, do you mind telling us your business plan? (which target market, which of their set of demands, which product or service, etc.)

Knowing the business plan can help draft an effective online and search engine marketing plan.

If you want, I can talk to you about creating a business plan and online/SE marketing plan (just a draft which can be stored up in our heads will do) on Yahoo Messenger (text chat will do).

It's a 100% free consultation. I have free time now (just waiting for things from my colleagues).

You can read my startup story or Google me so you can determine if you can trust me or otherwise. EDIT: I forgot to include the page name, sorry = it's fixed and now linked to our About Us page.

Like you, I started with nothing but my own time and skills in 2004 (established my company in 2006). This was less than 1 year after I went totally blind (someone gunned me down twice in Nov 2003 while I was just buying fried rice from a local neighborhood food stall).

        This is my YM ID.

        Read read read?

With no business plan = what are you reading? A little of everything, or everything about something, or how would you be sure you're reading the right stuff?

I think you need a customized business plan, not something you'll follow, written step by step by someone with his own business plans.

Talk to others in an environment which can promote fast idea exchanges. These people can be your family, friends, colleagues, etc.

Can't write out a step by step business plan, post it here and wait for your response and other questions for me to post something again, wait for your response, etc. Besides, the business plan would most likely be useless if I wrote it here without getting the information I need from you by asking the "right" questions and the information I can possibly share when you ask your own questions. We'd be wasting time doing this, and a much faster, more effective way for us to communicate, share ideas, exchange questions and answers, etc. is to text chat via Yahoo! Messenger.

Can't text chat well on Skype (my screenreader software has compatibility issues with Skype's text chat box).

Then, after we talk, you can perhaps post our IM conversation here and the business plan ideas we talked about if you want.

It all depends on how tight is your budget.

If you have a deep pocket to put into your online business, you could consider doing pay per click like Google Adwords. PPC generally will give you faster result and it is ideal for those who like 'instant gratification'. There are good courses around like PPC Classroom.

If you wish to explore building your business with free or low cost methods, then I would recommend you to try out Google Sniper. It is one of the better course out there which teaches you the basics like keyword research and how to target the keyword and profit from it with a website. The course teaches you how to get free traffic from Google.

Both ways can make you money. You only need to find one that fit your budget and schedule. Hope this helps to give you some direction.

I am new here too and still feel like a novice even though I have been researching, following internet marketers (ims) that interest me like Shawn Case, Justin Blake, Keith Wellman. I will bet there are knowledgeable, experienced ims like them here but more accessible and willing to share.

So I agree with what's been said about being here, reading past threads, following currect ones, just hanging out, and watch your knowledge and understanding naturally, inevitably grow. That will lessen the confusion and bring clarity as to what you need to do.

Just read around forums and decide the best system for yourself.

Best system for other people may not works for you and vice versa. You have to keep reading and trying for awhile and don't expect easy results.

There are many "systems" out there. Affiliate marketing, AdSense, AdWords, article marketing, video marketing... etc. You should try more things and find out what works for YOU and what doesn't. Every one of use has some skills, someone is good at article writing and some are good at building niche blogs... it really depends on the person and the ability to learn and move.

There are lots of threads here in WF where you can take advice from, learn and apply.

Since, you are a newbie I would suggest you to read threads in this forum and make yourself familiar with the different systems.

Depending on your interests, you can then buy products related to it. The WSO section might help you in this.

Also, join the 30 day challenge program by Ed Dale. Its totally free. And after following it you will get the hang of Internet Marketing.

When you feel you are ready to move up the ladder, consider joining the War Room.

I have a huge lump on my forehead where I've just been banging it on the desk. (I think I broke my keyboard)

Seriously (and Darmic I'm not getting at you), but the question you just posted is totally nebulous. You cannot point someone in the right direction as you've asked in a single thread.

IM is huge, you can't just post and ask for help in where to start, you need to know in what direction you want to travel first!

First of all you need a business plan, I see you've had the offer of some help there so I would suggest you take it up. Bev Clement another warrior is also excellent with business plans.

One tip I will give you, don't rush into buying everything in sight, its the fastrack to heartbreak and poverty, also decide on a system and stick with it.

You will need to learn some basic IM skills such as website building etc. Xsitepro is excellent for newbies

    Good luck

I understand Kim your frustration about people not knowing, i do not think how many threads I have posted has any barring on what I would like to know, remember you had to start from the start, people have to start from some where and that is to ask for help or questions if they are not sure. Perhaps the so called Guru's should not make it look so easy and suck people in to make a profit.
They should have systems/ebooks that lay out what kinds of marketing there is and tel the truth on what goes on.

I have had ebooks that state for newbies and it might as well been in Chinese they were useless to me.

I really do apologise but all I asked was for some help to point me in the best direction, if that is to read or to get this particular system then say that not to put people down about asking a question.

I do thank you for your comments it does ring true, but I would expect more from a senior member.

        Hi Darmic

I'm sorry you didn't take my post in the spirit it was intended. I gave you some good advice (which is what you were asking for). I certainly wasn't intending to pull you down, just be honest with you.

You'll find there are 100's of threads on the forum just like yours from people asking for help in how to start in IM, and there are a lot of different answers.

        It's a huge subject...

There are lots of ebooks and systems out there to help you learn, the point I'm making is you need to know exactly what it is you want to learn about.

Make your mind up what type of IM you want to get into i.e affiliate marketing for instance then come back and ask us for advice on that system. Can you see what I mean about breaking it down.

Thanks again and I think the read, read, read is a good start, I have done a lot of reading but you still learn. That is where I got confused because of the amount of different ways.
The one I am interested in is S.E.O for a start before spending money, I am not to good with P.P.C and I think a quite a few people are the same. So again for those who have helped thank you.

Im new to the market as well, in for just over a year. Actually just discovered Warrior Forum. From what I can tell, almost anything you need is here. I haven't registered yet, but the more I look around... the more convinced I am to join. I really DO know what you are asking... we could have an entire forum site of How I Got Scammed by buying a junk make money on the internet course. The same information reproccessed and regurgitated over and over again... or buying a "ready made" or "copy" system that throws you into hosting plan and a web page that isn't worth 2 cents in an over-saturated and far too competitive market.
There really are some plans out there that work. They cost money. I spent thousands of dollars, really... i did, buying and looking for something that wasn't trash.
    My suggestion is:
Look for a system that isn't "ready made" as it is simply most likely just selling the system that you are buying... HEHEHEH
I am new here, so I don't know what the etiquette is for recommending what I've actually used. I found 3 systems that I loved, and still subscribe to their forum sites and use their products DAILY. It took me over a year to find them.

I know what you want... an honest, real, non commercialized, and a non self promoting advice to a simple system that provides all the nuts and bolts to get started. There are several out there.
No one seems to say what those systems may be, so maybe I shouldn't either... as I am new here.

What I will say is this... If you find a system you are interested in, check them out! Look at the BBB online, and see how many complaints and what their rating is. If I had done this on just 1 of my SCAMMED systems I would have saved over $2,000. I have money to spend, so buying and trying wasn't a problem for me... I just wanted TO KNOW. If you are on Clickbank, see what systems have a high gravity, and LOW return rate. Find out if they seem to be legit, or are they just another novice trying to sell something they know nothing about to make money.
Ask around, and I guess you could ask advice on the name of a system here in Warrior Forum? Senior Members would know.

Maybe a senior member can recommend some systems that they know of. Send me PM... I'd be happy to tell you what I've used, and what ones I'd recommend you stay away from.

    Best of luck!

Do join War room, it is very useful for newbies.

If you have large funds available, you can start business on Ebay.

You can write articles and do forum and blog posting for making urgent money.

Do not spend high amount on advertising initially.

Test each method with small amount and continue with the profitable one.

      Good Luck.

My advice comes in two parts, the first of which has been suggested many times in this topic already - JOIN THE WAR ROOM.

This many people recommending it should already tell you the value of being a member there.

Secondly, read the posts in this forum and you will inevitably find more than enough free information to enable you to decide on a business model.

Once you have decided on a business model, put all other ideas aside and work on that ONE business model until you succeed.

The only one that will determine whether or not you succeed is YOU and your perseverance and attitude towards you business.

    Good luck!!

Hi - You are right, its so easy to get confused. There is so much information it can become mind boggling, and it can cost you a fortune if you just start buying anything and everything, hoping that this is going to be the one. Internet marketing, despite what some say, is not easy. You have to start with the basics like making up a website, hosting the site, using an autoresponder, promoting the site, monetizing the site and so on - and so on, and if you don't know where to look this can cost, whereas a lot of facilities can be had for free. You will never learn it all at once and if you flit from one manual to another you will only create more confusion. I suggest to you that a steady learning curve is the only way. Many so called Guru courses will tell you what you need to do, but regrettably not how to do it and can be particularly expensive. You will see that my User Name is George64, that is because I am 64, nearly 65 actually. Although not on this forum, I have been around a while, and the best course I have come across is provided by a chap up in Yorkshire who has been marketing for many years. You learn in easy lessons and it is very reasonably priced. Let's be honest here, yes I will get a small commission for introducing anyone to this course, but I know you won't begrudge me that when you see the content and that you can be earning within weeks.
Contact me by PM..and I will be pleased to help you all I can.
