Hey guys,

Just want your advice on paying to outsource backlinking.

I know there are tons of ebooks you can buy on the topic.

Just wondered do you use a service or do you find it better to get a virtual assistant and have them do the backlinking for you?

Also interested if anyone can reccomend a good site for hiring slightly more difficult outsourcing tasks. E.G. specific software use

    My sig has a link to my outsourcing blog posts. I hire my own staff now and it's been quite a good experience. There IS a learning curve, but they cost less than freelancers, and the learning that they do directly benefits my business on future tasks.

    Philippines all the way.

    I suggest going with Philippine-based outsourcing firms specializing in IM services to hire assistants instead of hiring direct.

    Why?

    If you hire direct, will you provide your assistants with a competitive and rewarding working environment with facilities and office equipment plus technology which can improve their skills, employee insurance, employee benefits, your share for employee taxes, extensive hands-on Saturday training sessions, on-the-job Monday to Friday training sessions, Saturday common company and personal goal developmental sessions, extensive monthly character and mindset formation sessions, fast promotions for constant high quality performance, rewards and incentives for exceptional work, higher hourly rates for additional work, etc.?

    If no, then wouldn't the best thing for your assistant to do is to take projects from others while on the job and leave you hanging once such an opportunity with an employer who can provide all things above is available?

    Outsourcing is investing in people. Make them happy, secure, rewarded, challenged and fulfilled = they will provide you with the best value while they're with you.

    The largest corporations invest in people. They grow bigger by the day.

    You built your plans from the ground up. Now implement those plans from the top down. Hire people who can make your business work even without your intervention. Invest in people requiring the least possible time and money investments to stay happy, rewarded, fulfilled and challenged to make your business work even without your intervention.

    I believe those large corporations think this way before they start a venture which involves people investments:

    "this is my business plan with growth plan and marketing plan attachments...to run my business properly, I must hire 1 person who can do a lot of needed things for me, and of course I will make this person happy, so I found the right person, and I train him right, treat him right, make him happy, so after a month he makes me earn more than enough for my needs and his needs and a lot more left to reinvest in my business, so I hire another right person, train them right, treat them right, make them happy, so after 2 months they make me earn twice what I need for my needs and their needs and twice more left to reinvest, so I grow 100% each month, and it's been a year, now have 2048 people, trained right, treated right, are happy working with me, and they make me earn 2048 times of what I need for my needs and each of their needs, and there's 2048 times more than enough left to reinvest, so I follow my 100% monthly growth plan for another year, and after 2 years I have 8384512 people making me earn 8384512 times of what I need and what each of them needs each month plus 8384512 times of more than enough left to reinvest in my business, ahh: I can now retire since the first few people who I hired can easily do what I'm doing for my business because I trained them right, treated them right, challenged them right, rewarded them right, so I talk to them, first person's long retired and running 20 business under franchise from my business, 2nd person, too, ahh: 3rd one's available... that's nice: I just managed to establish my business which can now run even without me with just 2 years of business work... I can now invest in other things and spend more time with my family, doing things which make us happy and even helping others sometimes".

      Here is what I would suggest. Outsource tasks instead of outsourcing work .

      The difference between the two is when you outsource work, you are in effect delgating the work to other 'companies' to do as a turnkey solution. When you outsource task, you still monitor and retain control over how the task is performed. usually task outsourcing involves hiring freelancers/people directly to work on the task at hand.

      Initially, the former looks attractive as you can 'set and forget' the work when you outsource. The issue arises when you are doing something different than what others are doing. In this case, you will run into hurdles. If you are not doing things differently, you will be eaten by those that do.

      When you outsource task, you have to lay down the specifics of how to perform the task to the user. This is an initial hurdle that you will have to surmount. Once you are past this, you will have a process that you can assign to anyone and more importantly, change it to do what you want done, instead of trying to explain to others and 'hoping' they get it.

      To people who have never outsourced before, outsourcing work will look attractive, but for long term growth, outsourcing task is the way to go. A few months down the line, you will start thinking about outsourcing tasks instead of work. Why not do so from the begining?

      Now when you outsource tasks, the goal is to reach a stage where outsourcing work is done within your company. But this usually takes a few days to few months depending on the task at hand.

      For outsourcing backlink building, if you focus, you can get to this stage within a week or so.

      But there are drawbacks to task outsourcing also. It would be a repetitive tedious activity to be done by one person. So you are going to be faced with people turnover. To counter this, you need to set a process in place so that the next person to take over the job will be able to start working immediately instead of after a few weeks.

      Focus on the process and you will thrive, focus on a task and you will wither. Whatever you do, focus on setting up a process instead of thinking only about the task at hand. Once you start doing this, you will see that outsourcing is truly a gift, a gift of your time.

      As for complicated tasks, my suggestion again is to focus on setting up a process instead of thinking about the task at hand. If you set up processes, you become less dependent on people. And remember, the more time you spend setting up a process in the begining, the more you time you will have in the end.

      As for hiring people, you can either hire full time employees or hire freelancers. For either you need proper processes to be effective. The best way to achieve this if you do not have a documented process is to hire people from Odesk on a hourly basis and begin outsourcing your task and document/come up with a process at the same time. You can even have the freelancer document the process. This will help you to get a process and in future you can hire full time resources to do this for you.
