Hi folks,

I just want to ask. Is clickbank product, especially for their health niche e-book, still popular to sell? Are there any people want to buy those products?

Yeah they're still really popular. Their top 3 health & fitness products are fat loss 4 idiots, truth about abs & fat burning furnace. All of them are massive sellers all year round.

Click bank product is still Deffently popular to sell as for the health it's still running in the markets and people are still going crazy for this. I don't think any of the herbal product are going anywhere as weightless is still making a top sales out there! I been promoting health product on my twitter account and I still get quite a decent income from this.

The problem with clickbank is that require at least 5 different credit card payments from different numbers (and ip's) before they release any affiliate cash.

The problem a lot of poeple find is that most people now pay via paypal which is not classed as a credit payment type. I know a lot of people who have money stuck in clickbank as most (99%) of their buyers have paid using paypal.

The way I found to get round this is to find the lowest prices item on click bank (a real estate ebook I believe at $3) and have your friends purchase this using there creidt card (visa / matercard etc) to unlock any money you have generated..

Or a $3 book specially designed to overcome this problem.

That must be a real pain, but I guess they enjoy all the interest they build up in their accounts.

That definitely is not a good news for me. Ever since my adword account got banned, I didn't make any sales and I unable to claims those money since I haven't hit the 5 sales quota.

That's shocking Alexa.. thanks for letting me know, I was considering running a product through Clickbank but I don't like the idea of my affiliates working extra hard just to keep what is already theirs.

Well if they can't make just ONE sale (of ANYTHING) in 3
months one could question if they are really working that
          extra hard.

Alternatively advise them that just before 3 months is up
to buy a $3 product using their own affiliate id.

Hell yea it is still popular. Mostly because it is affiliate centered..Affs get upto 75%... YES the quality of products there is bad.. which is why plimus seems to be taking over the digital product market. Much better products there along, also support or gift coupons and backup disks makes it a better deal..

Since I'm not a lawyer, but you seem to either be one or have spoken to one about this specific issue, could you explain why the dormant account charges are illegal?

Ok, ClickBank is still very popular and seeing unheard of growth in a down economy. With FTC and Visa/MC crackdowns on free plus shipping continuity programs and ClickBank's recent foray into the physical product arena, a lot of experienced and new vendors are moving or returning to ClickBank.

Add to that the fact that ClickBank hasn't yet employed a sales team to attract new vendors and you have a stable, established, well-managed company with potential coming out the ears. Too bad they aren't publicly traded.

Regarding the 5 credit card rule, once the funds in your account have been there for 60 days (past the refund policy) you can request a check be mailed, even if you haven't met the minimum distribution requirement. Just contact the accounting group and ask them to flush the account. They will review the account to make sure you're not just using the account for the "ClickBank discount." If everything looks ok, they'll send a check.

That could work but I wouldn't do business with a company like that and wouldn't encourage my affiliates to either, it's just an unfair practice.

Their parent company tops $100M a year. Clickbank itself makes a sale every 3 seconds. That's more then Michael Jacksons Thriller, at it's peak (it's the number one selling album).

How much more vitality do you want

Clickbank is great for digital products but please don't limit yourself. There are 100's of really great affiliate programs out there. You can promote nearly anything you can thing of.

Before you limit yourself to clickbank take some time to dig deep and see what's really there during my recent niche research I have uncovered some amazing affiliate programs.

7.5% plus $1 per transaction. Essentially, that's 3.75% plus $.50 for the affiliate and the same for the vendor. What do Amex, Visa and MC charge? Alternatively, what would you be paying per month for a merchant account/shopping cart service that could also track affiliate sales?

Add to that the fact that they handle customer support for the financial side of things including refunds and charge backs. They also mail checks for thousands of affiliates.

Saying ClickBank is a retailer is like saying Walmart is an electronics store.

clickbank is most popular, but loosing its popularity.
may be because of new competitors? or their low quality products?
this is again a new question to be discussed.

Have you guys ever tried listing your products on multiple sites (like CB and PDC at the same time)? Do you think customers are ever turned away when they get to a checkout page for your product at a place like CB?

I'm looking into the options for my own product, but so far I'm not happy with what I've found.

I'm thinking of building my own system -- I'm a Silicon Valley CS guy and I think I have some cool new ideas to bring to the table -- but I'd want to make sure that I'm solving other people's problems in addition to my own.

What's on your wishlist? Please PM me or respond if you feel passionate about how to make these systems better.

You guys need to understand the reason they have the 5 different credit card rule is to stop affiliates from purchasing products using their affiliate ID just to get a discount. Yeah the paypal problem should be fixed..Below is straight from the horses mouth:

    Customer Distribution Requirement

ClickBank will withhold payment of any account balance until the following criteria is met:
    • Sales made with 5 or more different credit card numbers; and,
    • Sales made with two different payment methods (either Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal). Note: PayPal purchases do not count toward the minimum 5 different credit card numbers.
This requirement is in place to help prevent Affiliates from abusing the ClickBank Affiliate program by using their accounts for the sole purpose of fraudulently collecting rebates and/or discounts on their own purchases.
Once you have met the Customer Distribution Requirement, your account will begin issuing payments normally, in accordance with our Accounting Policy, beginning on the next payment issuing date.

    Dormant Accounts

Accounts with a positive balance but no earnings for an extended period of time are considered dormant. Dormant accounts are subject to a charge of $1 per pay period after 90 days of no earnings, $5 per pay period after 180 days of no earnings, and $50 per pay period after 365 days of no earnings.

Keep in mind that an affiliate account won't go negative based on these charges. Only accounts with a positive balance will be charged these fees.
