I am feeling very uncomfortable!! I have affiliates interested but don't know where to start. Help!

Hey Warriors,

Well something has happened that I didn't quite expect. We are set to launch our very first product Feb 17th and now all of the sudden we have several people wanting to, willing, and ready to promote our product.

There is only one problem....I have never launched a product much less set-up an affiliate program. So what the heck do I do?

Do I just set it up with clickbank? I heard something about a RAP script..or the $7 script. Do I use those to?

It's funny, business is all about pushing yourself to the point of being uncomfortable, well I am there for sure. We launch in 12 days and I have no idea where to start for an affiliate program lol.

Thanks,

Brandon

    Hi Brandon,

It is unlikely you will get Clickbank approval in time, so I suggest
going with Sell Products Online, Sell Online, Affiliate Marketplace, Sell Products Online With Paypal, Affiliate Marketing, Merchant Accounts, Free Product Listing, Digital Products, Affiliate Network, Promote Products, Sell eBooks Online, Sell Software Online,

They pay you straight to your paypal on sales and you settle debts
with affiliates at the end of the month.

    Hope this helps,
    Colin

    Hi Brandon,

Clickbank can take anywhere from a week to 3 weeks but it all depends on what they want you to change (if anything) in your product. They are fussy over their rules!!

Paydotcom.com is instant which is good in your case.

As to settling debts they show you how much you owe everyone who has sold products for you in real time but you don't pay till 30 days past sales in case the customer wants a refund.

Clickbank is a way better place to get affiliates, its just the fact they will make you jump through hoops LOL

Clickbank pay the affiliates for you, which is good but they keep some back in case of refunds that you don't really ever get back.

It depends what you want really but if you go with paydotcom then to get listed in the market place you need one sale. That sale cant be from your own CC or paypal.

    Anyway hope this helps.

    Cheers,

Ive been working like crazy in january going into lots of new niches and opened lots of new affiliate products on clickbank recently and my turn around for product approval is 2 days and the last two have been approved within 12 hours.

So dont panic go and open your clickbank account now and put in the request straight away.

RAP works very well, way more flexible/controlled the ClickBank or PDC, but only uses PayPal as the sales processor.

Has a built in affiliate/JV program and a lot of other features.

Downside is your set up and maintain on your server, but once up and running, very easy to maintain...

Of course, I may be a bit bias... and yes, I have tried the other two mentioned.

    Thanks,

    John

Ok, so If I go with Clickbank they will take care of the affiliate stuff? What then do I tell my affiliates about how to promote? Just go to Clickbank and find our product? Is their affiliate code automatically generated?

Also, should I be building an affiliate page?

    Thanks for all the help!

One of the great things about Clickbank is, not only do they handle everything. Totally handsfree, but all you have to do is provide a short Affiliate page and give your affiliates a simple link template.

      http://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net

Instruct your affiliates to replace "affiliate" with their Clickbank ID and you replace "vendor" with your Clickbank ID.

Of course, you should provide your affiliates with some promo material.
      Banners, emails, articles,etc.

If your launch is set for Feb. 17th then you should have time enough for your product to be approved by Clickbank.

In fact, if you act fast, you could give your affiliates some pre-launch promos.

If you're concerned about getting approved in time, push your launch date back.

DON'T LET THE AFFILIATES GET AWAY!

Oh, if you don't already have a Clickbank ID, you can get one immediately.

My advice would be to hold off on the launch for a while and hire a product launch manager. You may be able to find one here on the warriors for hire section. You may be able to get one for a % of the initial launch and then a sliding scale thereafter, depending on the amount of work they put in. Get someone that has done a couple of successful launches and they will make sure you have all your ducks in a row prior to launch. In the mean time you could always do a "pre-launch" here as a discounted WSO and that way you can make sure the sales funnel is working correctly from a customer POV as well as get some testimonials from fellow warriors for your "main launch"
