I don't know. I don't think so.

In any case, the link I would provide is to a service that I get zero, zip, nada from.

The only reason I would be providing the link is to help facilitate their purchase of my ecourse - no ulterior motives.

Of course I want to make money....I said that I wanted to provide the info in order to facilitate their purchasing my ecourse.:confused:

But that doesn't mean that every single thing I do or every piece of info I offer has to be an affiliate link.

I'm not suggesting that you do that either, or that you spam up
your site with a bunch of inappropriate affiliate links. But if there
is a natural occurrence for an aff link, we should take advantage
of it; especially when providing a service that our clients need.

  I don't agree with this at all. The card being recommended by Shay, George and myself IS an affiliate card - but it uses major retailers to sell it, not individual marketers. It is a low cost card with very small carrying fee monthly - and mentioning it is a service to your customers that can bring in more sales.

Hi Shay,

Great reminder. I've been telling people about and using greendotonline.com for years. It's not only great for people who don't have a CC it's great for people who want to protect themselves from excessive overcharging. Thieves can not get more than is on the card and you can keep the balance within your own "loss comfort zone." Mine is $20

In fact I use the GreenDotOnline CC/DC as my CC on PayPal with no problem.

There are online bank accounts that anyone can get that work with PayPal also.

I began using Greendot as a result of seeing George's recommendation and have had no problems using it online.

To me, it's preferable to using your credit card - really cuts the risk down.

It could also be a suggestion in niches where customers have an aversion to making their credit card info available online.

Its same here but some payment facilitators like http://www.fastecash.com(which we call the Paypal of Africa) are coming up but the bulk of transactions is still done via Bank Transfers.

I have come across many people who say that they don't have a credit card but want to get started in some sort of a business.

I really think that those who are serious will do what ever it takes to get one.

I have come across people who want to get started but don't really want to get a card. They want to do things in a "free" way.

Yes, PayPal is another way to get started but a credit card is the best way to go if a person wants to make money online.

LOL - this reminds me of something that happened to my group last month. We're running this affiliate promotion and of course our mailing address is in all of our newsletter emails as per CAN SPAM, and out of the blue, this check shows up in the mail. Turns out this guy didn't want to buy over the internet and apparently thought we were the merchant, and so just sent us a check and wanted us to ship him the book (thought the ebook was a physical book lol).

Paypal is now also offering a service where if you have an acct with them, and run into a site online that only accepts CC's and not Paypal, you can backtrack to Paypal's site (w/in your acct) and generate a one time use/multiple use MC/Visa Account Number with security code and expiration date.

Take that back to the merchant and presto chango, you have your purchase.

Works like a dream and the best part is it's cross platform, so MAC users have access as well.

  Yep, pre-paid cc cards are great...make sure when you purchase that the card has the 4 digit thingy on the back to verify your card...most do but not all.

So now I am going to add this information in all of my offers. A sentence or two letting my list members know how they can purchase even without a credit card could result in lots more sales. It certainly couldn't hurt!

Something like: "If you are sitting there thinking, 'This is great, but I don't have a credit card to order!' - don't despair! Go to (insert website here) and learn how to get a reloadable Visa or Mastercard debit card - great for online purchases!"

I would think this type of service would be available outside the US (a few countries have been mentioned on this thread) - but not sure if it is available in all of them.

Like I said in my OP - this is a change that costs nothing but can easily bring in more sales - so why not try it?

  Prepaid Debit Cards are great. Work with PayPal as well so no problems there. You can't lose more than you load on plus if somebody does rump your card - no effect on credit ratings and such.
  
  My bank here does them and also does another neat thing with their online banking system.
  
  I can logon to my account and create a "virtual credit card", valid for a single transaction only. Creates a valid cc number and the 3 digit security number on the back, but after you've used it for the single transaction it's valid for - kaput, that credit card number no longer exists.
  
  Use these mainly for taking trials where I suspect an auto-rebill might be in place.
