MAC Keynote Program Question

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way to add a Keynote video to my already existing site somehow?

For example, open my webpage up in Keynote and build and my video to it from inside Keynote. Does this make since?

I want to add a video in an area that my WP will not allow me to without knowing really good HTML. Or would using KompoZer or something likt that be better?

Thanks!

Uhhh.. I am gonna have to say no.

If it is just a video, you can always embed it using a service like youtube. To produce the video using keynote is another question, but not sure if it is related to what you are asking.

I use Keynote a lot to produce videos but I also just record them using screenflow once the keynote presentation is produced. You can create some top quality "flash-like" effects when combining such resources, like in this recent video I did for a client:

Would love to help you more dude, but you need to be more clear.

I've only dabbled with Keynote but it is a beautiful program. I've thought about creating video presentations with it myself and wondered the same thing.

What I was thinking of doing was playing my Keynote presentation while recording it with Camtasia, that way I can do a voice over at the same time. Then I'd export it to a movie file and upload to youtube and embed the code into a blog/web site.

Just one way of doing things. No reason why it wouldn't work.

Sure it will work, but it isn't the optimal way of coordinating the voice track with the effects in Keynote IMHO.

You must have a Mac then since you liked Keynote, so here is the process that I would recommend:

1- In Keynote, program your slides and effects in the sequence you want them displayed. Under each slide add your script for that slide ONLY. When you are finished that,

2- Copy and paste all of your notes from Keynote into one notepad file and practice it once or twice like you would be doing for a speech.

3- Record that script into GarageBand using the voice function. Make sure to uncheck any effects like reverb.

4- Edit your audio track so that it sounds fluid and professional. (Eliminate uhs and ahhs for eg)

      5- Export your audio track.

6- Back in Keynote, run the presentation while recording using screenflow (or camtasia). Don't use audio for the recording and don't worry about the timing at all, just make sure that between each effect or slide change that you pause long enough to be able to edit that clip later.

Once the recording is complete you can start to put everything together.

7- In screenflow, import your audio file you had previously exported from GarageBand, and any intro, background or exit music you will be using.

8- Once imported add the audio track to the edit panel. This is basically your finished audio because that has already been edited.

9- Now you can start matching your visuals to the audio track. You can clip, freeze frame (in screenflow), separate, extend, and speed up any part of the visual track so that it is exactly synced with the perfect audio.

When you do it this way, you will have less errors and editing challenges after the fact with an ad lib audio.
