If your website gets de-indexed from google, where you type in your websites url and it doesn't show up in google in qoutes, do you keep posting Or do you move on to building a new website?

  • Do you know why it was removed? Usually you can clean up whatever the reason was that caused it to be removed then submit a Reconsideration Request and they'll take another look at it. It can take several weeks to a few months for the process to run its course, but if you have a lot of time or content or money invested into the site it may well be worth it.

    • It is a newer blog that I registered 2 days ago so I guess it will be a while before google picks it up.

  • 2 days is a little time, be patient. Generate some backlinks and try to ping it.

  • My website has been up 9 days, have done some linking, and it still doesn't show up. I still need to write a better sales letter for it though.

    • This actually happens a lot.

It is because the rest of the datacenters havent indexed it yet. It will fix itself with time.

      Don't freak out !

  • I've had several sites indexed, and then "de-indexed" after a few days. It wasn't really de-indexed, though. Just what Daniel said, it was just a propagation issue I think.

The best thing you can do to get your website off to a good start is to build some backlinks. But, not just one kind of backlink. Do a little bit of everything: Do some blog commenting on both no-follow and do-follow blogs, write some articles, create some forum signatures, register your site in some free web directories, create some links from Web 2.0 accounts, post some hubs on Hubpages, or a lens or two on Squidoo.

The key is to make it look natural and varied. I have even had some good luck in creating a free e-book or report, and then listing the free download in the various places on the web where you can list free stuff.

    • This is very solid advice, and a really good point to bring up. If you go full force with just one type of backlink strategy it won't work. The more natural it is, the better. I've seen people pour a lot of money into a certain type of backlinks, and had slow results because that's all they did.

On most of my projects, I do:

      Directories
Social Media Sites (to individual pages)
      Article Marketing
      Angela's links

And with this kind of variety, nearly all of my projects do well. It really is about appearing natural, the best SEO looks like it never happened.
  • Indexing takes time, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

If I were you I'd find multiple streams of traffic anyway, i.e. Twitter, list-building, etc. etc. etc.
  • change the meta tag of your website
  • go to Google webmaster tools and click on 're-register' website

they will crawl your site again
