Spying on competitors

by Kevin Birch 5 replies
I am wondering if there is there anything available to know how many unique hits a competitor's site is getting?

Or am I on dodgy ground?

You can look both at Google Trends and also Alexa to give you some idea. It is not 100% accurate, but may help you a little.
It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Don't put too much trust in Alexa. I've done the research and know for a fact that their numbers can be way wrong.

There was another tool very similar to alexa... now if I could remember its name...

I don't think there is any way to tell that without looking through
their analytics. That figure really doesn't matter anyways. You
can try quantcast.com ... but I think the site needs to be HIGH
    trafficked to show up.
