Help from Membership Site owners...

So, I am in the accounting niche, and thinking of setting up a membership site where business owners can get accounting help or advice for a flat monthly fee.

I was considering making this fee small enough so the members would not even flinch at the monthly fee, but at the same time, if they needed any type of financial or accounting support, have a question they need answered, they can have support without having to call a CPA and be charged enormous fees.

Any ideas? Do you think this would work? Is there even a demand for this type of thing?

Also, if any of you on this board would find this valuable, let me know....looking for feedback.

    I personally think this could work. Tax laws are always changing. I would not know how much to charge since this is not my niche. You could probably search and find some other websites and see what their fees are and go from there. Good luck with this.

    I think your challenge would be determining what's included in the membership and then I'd probably have multiple levels. Otherwise you'd have someone paying $xx/mo and submitting 5, 10, 20 questions a day and you'd be overloaded. You should also consider bringing in additional CPAs to help and provide options for your clients.

    Bronze - $9/mo - 3 questions
    Silver - $17/mo - 8 questions
    Gold - $24/mo - 15 questions
    Platinum - $49/mo - 25 questions and (1) 5min phone call

    There are several Wordpress membership plugins, but here's my favorite:
    Membership Software | Wordpress Membership Site Plugin | WishList Member

    Outside of WP you could use Amember or DLGuard for memberships.

    I think you could use PrePaid Legal as a template for your business.

    Think about the accounting services that are necessary for high-income, high-net worth individuals. Dan Kennedy's book "Marketing to the affluent" will help spark your ideas. And think about what accounting is needed by spunky entrepreneurs who you can join when they start, and stay with them as they grow because you're their trusted adviser. Think in terms of those Gary Halbert called "Players with money": The Gary Halbert Letter.
