Question about back links

Hi everyone!

After doing some basic keyword research I started the website ice-cream-freezer.net as my first website ever. The main keyword I am going for is "ice cream freezer". I have submitted my website to about 10 high pr directories and around 15 social bookmarking sites. I also used the profile creator I found on this site to sign up at hundreds of different forums and put a link to my site in my profile.

However, I am still not even on the first page when i type in ice-cream-freezer.net. Instead many of my social bookmarks and directories come up.

Also, when I use a backlink checker it says that I have 0 backlinks and when I type in ice cream freezer in google I can't find my site anywhere within the first 25 pages.

It was only recently indexed (today) after only being on the web for about 2 days. Do I just need more time or is there something I am doing wrong?

Backlinks are like the fuel of SEO, so the more backlinks you get the higher rank on SERP you'll have. But you have to pay attention to the quality of your backlinks.
For new site, in my opinion, you shouldn't build many links, instead you do 2-5 backlinks each day. Do this consistently, and keep updating your site. Your SERP is depend on your competition. I saw your keyword competition, you do have a "bloody" competition (correct me if i'm wrong), so i just think it needs more time.
You do great for social bookmark, I do social bookmarking for indexing purpose.

    Thanks

You can not rush backlink building. It will start getting you results in some time. The key is to continue building backlinks in a constant pace over time. Also try to write quality articles and submit to high PR article directories and sites.

Felix, is "bloody" competition good or bad for me? Also, would Angelas backlinks be a good product to buy for my situation?

It will be very difficult for you to rank...I don't mean to be rude, but I don't want to give you false hope. The keyword you're competing for has 102,000,000 search results. Most newcomers try to compete for keywords that have 60,000 or less... Do you see the kind of competition you're up against?

Also, 90% of those pages ranking in the top ten of google are >= 7 years old... Again, I don't want to be disrespectful, but your website will take a very long time before it sees even the first 10 pages of google...

The good news is that most of the top ten pages aren't SEO'd on-page for your keyword; your domain name will give you quite an advantage. However, I don't think it'll be good enough for you to compete.

My recommendation? Utilize some of the web 2.0 properties (like blogger o wordpress) and you might be able to indirectly rank on the first page of google (put a link on your blogger or wordpress subdomain to your main domain).

Otherwise, try to choose some significantly less competitive keywords, especially for your first website. You may want to read my post here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-research.html

I apologize for my bluntness, but I know that if I didn't tell you the truth, you might've given up on IM b/c you found it too difficult to rank...

I hope my answer has helped you!

What I refer to bloody is the competition is too tight like proaffiliate26 said. But it also doesn't mean that you can't win the competition, it just take time. So how long will it take? It really depends on your backlink building, like I said before go to consistent and constant link building, don't rush with building thousands links in a short period. So, you could conclude yourself how long it will take with this keyword to rank up high at Google.
Angela backlinks is helping but try to mix them with submit articles to article directory, blog commenting, rss submission, and any other backlinks methods.
In my opinion Google loves backlinks which come from anchor text within articles, beside article directory submission, you could try to build blogs which consist articles about your keyword/topic and give links within those articles to your site.

First, it takes time to rank for a keyword. Second, you have few backlinks, you need many more. Third, I don't think you will get to rank for your keyword. ice cream freezer has a lot of competing pages and it would be almost impossible for a beginner to rank on the first page for this keyword.

So I suggest you to focus on other keywords related to your niche with much less competition.

I doubt if even many of the very experienced people on the web have first page placement in Google for most competitive key phrases. Take note of the good advice above. Here is my 2 cents:

Write a lot of long-tail key phrase articles. Send them to Ezine Articles. Drip them in, one every week or so. Pick up good one-way backlinks. Drip those in too, maybe a couple of blog comments a day.

Yes, the age of your domain is very important to Google. To see how many pages of your site are indexed in Google do a search like this:

site:ice-cream-freezer.net I did that just now and it is showing that only 3 pages are indexed. Each page can take a week or two to get indexed. Your coding SEO looks good.

Most of all, be patient. Some people give up on websites too early. Slow and easy is best. Also, there is something magical that happens when you reach the 100 page mark. I'm not sure you want to do that for this Adsense site? Neither would I. Just curious, did you find this niche via Micro Niche Finder?

It's likely you are in the Google sandbox so many people swear does not exist. I say, if it can be imagined, Google can probably do it. I would take the same action if I were them. Remember, Google's customers are the searchers, period. Whatever gives the searchers a good experience, Google demands from the site owners. That is why I oppose spinning articles. They may work for a short time. Are you in this for the short run?

However, some sites never get through the barriers no matter how much you put into them. Sometimes it is better to cut your losses after a few months.

The fact that you've built a lot of backlinks quickly is maybe hurting you, but what hurts you the most I think is the fact that they aren't really quality links that would come from highly relevant content pages. I think Angela's packets, bookmarking sites and directories are OK for sites who need to build more links over time, but for starting off, you need some links from articles and other content-relevant pages before you'll see anything close to the results you're looking for. Go out and write some articles about ice cream freezers and build a few smaller sites about ice cream freezers and link back to your site from there, and you'll do much better for yourself.

Also, if your site just got indexed today, it's way too soon to see any kind of results. Trust the process, and you'll see results eventually.

Backlinking will definitely help you, but you need to be consistent and patient.

You could also give a try to link wheeling. Not with too many spokes in a week. And blogs in this niche also would help you.

All the best. Hopefully we all will see your post soon with having a higher PR for your site.
