Is there a demand for this?

Quick question...Is there a demand for voice work in this business? I know videos are powerful marketing tools but some people may be intimidated by their voice to start doing videos.

So do any of you think there would be a demand for someone who has a nice speaking voice to get work to record scripts that people can place on their videos or even to use for their mp3 recordings?

I ask this because my husband has a very good voice (used to be a radio DJ). He enjoys doing that type of thing.

So let me know what you all think.

There's definitely a demand for voice talent. There are quite a few sites like Voices123.com and Voices.com that connect companies with voice-over talent.

    Lucinda,

This is just one opinion of course but yes, voice-over work for videos is in-demand, see Voices.com | #1 Voice Over Marketplace for Voice Overs, Voice Over Talent and Voice Actors.

Mark, you beat me to it.

You may also want to get him listed on some of the freelance sites such as eLance.com or Getafreelancer.com.

    Best of luck--

Thanks for the response....I need to check this out a little more such as equipment needed any legal issues etc....I am assuming that he could hire himself out as a freelance voice talent much like a freelance writer does?

For sure there is! I remember a few months back there was a warrior (sorry cant remember who) who wrote a post about his wife who had started doing freelance work in her spare time and quit her job after a couple of months because she had so much work.

I am going to definitely research this more. He is willing to do it...but he doesn't think he has a good voice. I have had a lot of people tell me he has a nice voice. He sounded good on the radio when he DJ'd ....but that has been almost twenty years ago.

I just need to find out what type of equipment is needed and how much it will cost.

thanks to all of you for the support. Does anyone know of the typical price that a freelancer would charge for this type of work?

Would they charge per minutes or pages read?
