How Do I Set Up Image Downloading For Others?

I have some high quality jpeg images I want to make available for download to my clients. I don't want to put them on a site like Flickr or anywhere else where I lose copyright or open them up for public viewing.

If I upload the images to a password protected page on one of my sites, and I give out that site info and password, will my clients get the full image if they simply save image as?

Stock photo sites I've used offer a download feature. That's what I would like to do as well.

    You can compress the image to zip file with password protected, allow your clients to upload the zip file from your site and email them the password.

      Do you mean Download the zip file from my site?

      How do I get the zipped file onto that page?

    You can use Coppermine Gallery: Coppermine Photo Gallery It's been a while since I've set it up but it's not difficult. You can install it using Fantastico for the install if offered by your host.

    A membership site would be another alternative. As I remember there is a very inexpensive one available but it's name escapes me right now.

    You could also do as you mention and use a password protected page in Wordpress with the default image gallery or any other image gallery plugin.

    Just FYI: You don't lose copyright by uploading to Flickr and you can have private photos but it's probably not the right solution for you.

      Thanks Amy - Coppermine looks a bit complicated for my needs.

      I'll look at image gallery plugins.

      Any other suggestions, anyone?
