People Are Using My Content But....

Hello All,

I use google alerts and one of the alerts is my name. It usually alerts me that someone is using one of my articles on their site or blog and my name comes up because of the resource box.

Lately, when I've gone to the site,my article is there but it has been spun. Not just spun but spun badly as in hard to read. In all cases the article is credited to me and my website is listed but not always a clickable link.

There has been no contact information on these sites. A couple of them have been on blogger. What bothers me the most is anyone trying to read these articles must think I'm an idiot. Don't know what to do about the situation.

This is quite a problem. Indeed, a lot of people are using article spinners but most do not know how to do it properly. In your case, you may want to contact the site where the duplicated version have been posted.

If it is a Blogger blog: Report a spam blog - Blogger Help

Scraper and spam "auto-blogging" sites pop up all the time. If you put your articles out there on popular article directories (even videos on YouTube) they will get picked up by people in an attempt to manipulate the search engines and get traffic to their sites using spun content.

I wouldn't worry about it. It is probably on a pr0 site that isn't going to be seen by anyone.

I agree with what Terry says.
You are better off contacting people that have used your articles legitimately and work out some joint ventures to make you some moolah.

I wouldn't really worry about the badly spun articles since nobody reads them til the end. So they wouldn't know it was your article.

    Right?

I get article submissions to my blog everyday from UAW but I don't post 90% of them as they are so badly spun, If I see one or two that are reasonably ok I post them, sometimes with a little edit if theres one or two errors, but it never ceases to amaze me how these spinning/autosubmitters blast out such obvious rubbish just for the sake of spending an extra 5 minutes or so editing

I like to have articles from other writers on my blog occasionally cos I feel they give my readers a broader perspective.

This is why I hate spinning articles, because the results are just utter garbage.

I would contact the website and try to get them to remove the article.

This is the downside of using article spinner software. You cannot guarantee the correct and right grammar of the sentences of an article. All you have to do is to contact these persons behind copying incorrectly your article.
