How do I make $100 a day writing articles?

by BigBusiness Banned

Hello Everyone,

I am new here on the forum, and would love to hear opinions from like minded people. Obviously, my title pretty much asks the question.

I am an average writer, that can research things on the internet, and write average content on it. I am currently going to take a writing class at school, which is good.

But I want to start making money now. Can I make $100 a day writing articles? How do I promote? How do I get peoples trust? How do I maintain a good relationship?

Anything will do.

Thank you in advance.

Start a service at "Warrior for Hire" section. Give free service to first 3-5 warriors and ask for a review. If you write well, you will get good reviews.
That's when you can quote a price. Again, start from little low price - something in the range of $3-$4 for 500 word articles. Soon you will start getting orders 25-35 articles per day would mean $100 - Easy

I am not a content wirter myself but I guess the first step would be to offer free writing to get yourself a reputation, some people will simply use you for the free article then you will never hear from them again but hopefully you will get good feedback and start seeing your work utilised.

No one arrives one day and the next finds themselves getting $100 each day, at least as far as I know, those that do earn that much with a few articles have built up a client list over many months and years and have a constant flow of work, something that you will not have straight away so freebies is probably the way to go for a while to get your name known

Once you get good reviews for the first few, especially by well known people you will start finding you can charge $5 each, which is generally $15-20 an hour...after a while and your reputation is set you may find you can charge more as you become more in demand.

Yes, that is possible, which is even easier if you have a hot passion for writing.
Offer free articles for reviews to get your momentum. Once you have good reviews, it's easy to get trusted.

Write your articles fast without degrading the quality and you'll have superbly satisfied customers.

After that, you might want to start learning about SEO and LSI. Then perhaps offer such specialized SEO articles at a much higher rate.

You can make $100 a day writing articles.

The best way to get started is to put an advertisement in the Warriors for Hire section. You will need to pay $20 for the listing, and I believe you will also need to be a War Room member. (Well worth the $37.)

The War Room membership also upgrades the number of Private Messages you can send and receive, which will be important.

Make sure you have samples to show your potential clients. You may even want to offer to write a few free articles for people, to get reviews.

You will need to set your price to be competitive. Keep in mind, if you offer articles for $5 each for 500 word articles, you will need to write 20 per day to hit the $100. To some people this sounds easy, but when you are doing the research, writing 10,000 words, and then proofreading them, it can be a bit challenging.

Obviously you can write less articles per day, if your quality and research warrant a higher price per article.

P.S. Don't travel to an area where the internet is not working well...I just recently suffered through 10 days of horrible internet connectivity, and I am suffering greatly trying to get caught back up. Two wireless internet feeds, and both of them failed me.

By the way, the reason why you want to start at $5 first is because there is so much outsourcing to other areas of the world where that is an excellent wage, once you do get a rep people will then be more willing to renegotiate than just pay you highly simply because you are English or American

  • This is what I'd do:

    1) Identify niches where business owners operate and need huge volumes of written content for their marketing campaigns to be most effective in giving them the exact results they need.

    2) Write 3-5 articles covering competitive keywords. Articles should be about such niches.

    3) Publish the articles on my site.

    4) Submit my articles to the top 10-20-50-100 article directories. I'd make sure I write it this way: title = attention-grabbing, description = enticing, 2/3 body = providing useful/helpful info/advice relevant to covered topics/niches, last 1/3 body = curiosity-provoking for more/new useful/helpful info/advice, bio box = effective call to action. Also, I'd do effective keyword placement and use the same name as my author name on my site and across all article directories.

    5) Pay 3-5 people interested in writing content to each create 3-5 articles covering competitive keywords and niches most profitable for my venture (niches where business owners operate in and need huge volumes of content for their marketing campaigns to be most effective). Articles should be properly written and SE optimized.

    6) Do numbers 3 and 4 for articles from number 5.

    7) Calculate service pricing including net profits for me as service marketer.

    8) Slap CPC/CPM, CPA and affiliate product ads on my site.

    9) Launch a good affiliate program so others can sign up and sell my services for commissions per sale.

    10) Identify keywords used by most people for their SE searches when looking for relevant services. I'll use these as anchors for my backlink building, target market generation and marketing campaigns. Backlinks should point to my site's content pages and article directory publications. Backlink building, target traffic generation and marketing campaigns include article marketing, Web 2.0 marketing, forum marketing, Y!A marketing, blog marketing, link exchanges, mailing list ad exchanges, etc.

    11) Call then email proposals to large corporations and SMEs while doing number 10.

    12) Hire and train content Q/A personnel to ensure content quality from employee writers.

    13) Hire and train manager to supervise content Q/A and writer employees.

    14) Hire customer service personnel to provide great support to customers and affiliates.

    15) Make everyone I work with happy.

    16) Make each customer happy. Great for repeat business and free viral marketing.

    17) Happily market my services on relevant forums, blogs, sites, etc.

    18) Create sites in profitable niches then slip in internal content development projects for manager, Q/A and writer employees on top of their daily duties as additional work for added pay.

    19) Grow my business from 1 manager, 2 Q/A and 5 writer employees to 10 managers, 20 Q/A and 50 writer employees in 3 months.

    20) Make sure all people I work with are happy, rewarded, challenged and motivated.

    21) Retire from my business in 2 years. People I work with should be able to run and grow my business on their own with me just taking once-a-day, once-a-week or even once-a-month phone calls along with once-a-day email reports from them by then (I'd gradually make once-a-day phone calls and email reports to once-a-month phone calls and email reports).

    22) Invest profits in new profitable ventures like stocks, real estate, gold, oil, etc.

    23) Hire then train the right person to learn stock/real estate/gold/oil/etc. investment planning and implementation with me. I'd make sure this person is happy, rewarded, challenged and motivated while working with me.

    24) Retire from investment planning and implementation in 2 years. The person above should be able to run and grow my investments on his or her own by then with me just taking once-a-day, once-a-week or even once-a-month phone calls and email reports (I'd gradually work once-a-day phone calls and email reports to become once-a-month phone calls and email reports).

    25) Maximize my loads of free time and huge profits from all my investments by doing things which make me and my family happy. Help others along the way (could be family, relatives, friends, strangers motivated and challenged to do things to achieve their dreams, etc.).

Well, that's more than a 25-step $100/day overall plan, but I'd prefer to think big + plan big + implement big plans in big ways + do my best work = fly high, always.

    Hi

you can sell articles in the warriors for hire section or on odesk.com and very easily hit your $100 a day threshold. Also PM people that are asking for article writers too instead of just leaving the post and not making contact.

Another option is at the same time is to write articles for you and then build backlinks to them so they have a great position on Google and give you wonderful traffic.

    kind regards

Don't write free articles unless you just want to waste your time.

The advice to write free articles for reviews only comes from those who would be buyers not sellers. The reality is when you offer free articles here, you will find the same people asking for them. Rarely fo the writers get any feedback, and it leaves them wondering if their work is any good or not.

Again, people say offer for $3, $4 or $5 and then you can raise your price. The reality is many people have taken this advice, raised their prices to find they are unable to sell because new people come in (like you're asking) and start with lower prices.

$100 a day isn't impossible. It might seem it, but look at what you can do.

People say write 25 articles a day, but the reality is how much time do you have to research and write these articles?

You need to know exactly what you can commit yourself to before playing the numbers games. If you have 2 hours in the evening and can write 4 articles an hour then you are not going to write more than 8 hours a day. Do this first.

    To make $100 writing.

    10 articles @ $10 each
    20 articles @ $5 each
    1 press release @ $97
    5 autoresponder series @ $100
    1 Report @ $100

and so the list can go on and on.

Good advice from Bev. You do need to value yourself as a writer and know there are clients out there always willing to buy exclusive material of a high standard.

However, I also understand it can be challenging securing your first few clients without any testimonials or prior feedback. I suggest putting together a portfolio of work to show prospective clients.

Elance.com is also another site where you can look for freelance work. I have found it very competitive (particularly regarding price), but I hung in there for a couple of months, and now the work and feedback is growing steadily. Your welcome to PM me if you would like any more info.

      Best of luck Whitney!

      Kind regards,

      Kym

To go even farther - write 5 $20 articles or four $25 articles.

In other words, work your way up the fee ladder by providing top quality writing and pleasing your customers. Add services such as press releases and sales copy, email series, rewrites, etc and generate even more income.

I agree that offering free articles is a total waste of time - but I also think writing in the IM niche is guaranteed to keep your prices low as marketers are often looking for articles as fodder rather than as valuable content.

Sites like Demand Studio pay for good articles and you will do better hitting the freelance sites and going after jobs than placing one ad and then waiting for clients to come to you.

Once you get your writing business rolling and have some repeat clients earning $100 a day could be a slow day. But before committing yourself to too many projects make sure writing every day suits you - it's not always as easy as it sounds. On the other hand, some days it's a breeze.

3 articles.... @ $40 each.. and you'll even have an extra $20 to get some beers in

    This is not a joke..

$40 an article is not out of reach for any article writer. They just need to position their business to expect that amount. Some of my girls get paid more when the content is of higher importance to me..

    Peace

Marx has a very good point about not only freelancing your articles but as you already have a passion for writing (which something like 70% of IM-ers don't), than on top of promoting your writing you should look into niche marketing and using the power of blogs and article directories to promote each niche until it is a self-running machine..passive income baby that's where its at!

Hey BigBiz - this wont neccesarily make you $100/day straight up...but over time...watch it grow...traffic to your offer that is...

Go to Scribd.com sign up free, now write an article on your desktop in a Word document (2003 is best) edit with 2 nice relevant images/pics included and heres the trick....you want to use a good keyword tool so you can pick out and concentrate on 1 long tail keyword phrase that has little competition (40k or less competing pages), but has at least 1000 searches/mth

Next use the phrase as your title and then about every 100 words.

Next hyperlink your keyword phrase to your offer - this is called anchor text.

Next use a footer and hyperlink your company name to your offer also

Then upload to Scribd and post. It works a treat and you'll find a steady flow of eyes reading your content and clicking your links.

This is a very brief overview of the technique, so heres a link to the full article which I posted on Scribd. Increased Online Traffic

    Success to ya

Also, don't forget that you can easily write a pack of articles in a high-demand niche and sell their PLR rights as a WSO. This pushes you a little closer to being a product owner, and thereby having a little more control.

This may be after getting the hang of things and some rep, but 50 packs sold @ $40 each is 2 grand and you're done for the month! That puts you in a slightly better position.

I agree that you do not EVER want to write free articles or lower your article prices. You can start a little lower than what you want, but do not start a lot lower.

For instance, I now charge around $35 per article for an average article, and that is because I have built up a reputation and have clients that trust me. They know I can write quality articles for that price, which is whey I have little trouble charging that price.

I give discounts to warriorforum members, but that is to establish credibility since I am new around here. If you want to maintain quality clients, then it is typically not a great idea to lower yourself to writing for $3/$4 per article. You know what you are worth, so charge accordingly.

A great tip is to find offline businesses to write for. A great way to do this is to find a local marketing consultant who uses article marketing as part of his consulting package. Often times you can get offline clients to pay much more than online clients who only want to pay a few $ per article.
