Best domain name registrar

Hi everyone,

We've all heard about the top domain name registrars like Godaddy and Namecheap. Are there any more top domain name registrars out there? Or maybe a good questions is, who do you use and if you could tell us the reason, i.e. price, service, etc.

Thanks.

I own many thousands of domains, have been in the domain industry for 10+ years, and the best registrar out is Moniker.com.

Why? They are the ONLY registrar to never lose a domain to hijacking or other unscrupulous methods. I keep all of my valuable domains there - period. For people with only a few domains you'll pay slightly more than Godaddy, but you'll know that your domains will never be stolen.

My second choice would be Godaddy for the prices alone.

I can't speak with the authority of Rob, but I always use namecheap because they give free Whois Guard protection for the first year.

    Another standard one is 1and1.com.

    I like Namecheap.

Last I checked, enom's renewal fee was a whopping $35/year.

Been using Namecheap for a few years as well.

I first went with Namecheap because it was highly recommended by many marketers, and stuck with it since I've never had any problems with them.

Also, as mentioned before, they give free whois guard and also ssl certs. It saves a lot of money in the long run

1 & 1, and Hostgator - though H'gator's rebilling can be basic.i.e. I seem to remember one year one domain was not automatically renewed, or they didn't email me or something... I use 1&1 more....

Best domain registrars are godaddy and namecheap which are popular but if i want to register " .com " extension domains then i will prefer " internetbs.net " as they are cheaper here than " godaddy " If i want to register " .info " domain extension then i will go to " Godaddy ". Depending upon the domain extensions for different projects, i will use different registrars.

Godaddy and Namecheap. They are my domain registrars. Transactions are always secure. I have not had any issues. Always provide great service. Speciall I like the .99 domain offer that Godaddy declare time to time. That is their real cool offer. But sometimes Godaddy send too many emails for my liking. That is the only bad thing as far as I have seen.

    Thanks for the replies.

Another question is the price. Which registrar offers the most competitive in your opinion. Of course a low price is just secondary and the security and performance of the registratar must come first.

I have used different registrars (some gone bust, some are clumsy) before. But now I have settled down with namecheap. So far so good. Quite happy with it.

I started using Godaddy but now use Namecheap. I have also heard good thing about Moniker. Although namecheap is more expensive than Godaddy, I just find there service easier to use, easier to pay and I believe they are more IM friendly whereas Godaddy has been known to automatically suspend your domain as soon as they get a spam complaint.

I have been using many over the last few years but IMO, Namecheap is still the best value.

Great support, user panel is easy to navigate and the prices are good. Maybe not the cheapest but still the best value overall.

I know that many people in the IM world use namecheap, but I have found that Moniker is the one that works best for me. Not the cheapest, but I like the interface and how things are organized. If you have hundreds of domains, makes it alot easier.

I also re commend namecheap as their interface is user friendly and more over they give free Whois guard. Godaddy tries to oversell everything they offer and you need to click "No thanks" so many times before you are taken to the actually check out screen.
