Domain Name Registration - 1 Year or More?

Hi guys,

I read before that Google likes when you have your domain name registered for more than 1 year as many "spam" sites register the minimum and then discard the name after a year.

My question is: will it make any difference in search engine rankings to have 1 year or 2 year registration?

I would just reg it for one year...I honestly havent heard about that information being known outside of your domain provider... :/

You'll be fine either way - theres a lot more to SEO than how many years your domain is regged...Good luck my friend!

I was working in a big hosting company and I can tell for sure that ranking has nothing to do with the period of a domain's registration. At least according to my observations. No official info has been announced and its in the field of imagination to consider this.

I usually go for 1 year on my domains - never had a difficulty with competitors that have the domain for 5 or 10 years.

    Good luck!
