video editing/software help needed

hey guys,

after getting Mark Hess's WSO Ruthless Youtube Marketing (awesome awesome product) I'm wanting to dabble in video marketing, and I need help finding a software to do what I need.

Heres my plan....

I'm going to use a PC microphone to record some audio and use powerpoint to create some slides. I need a software program that will allow me to simply let me play the audio on top of showing my slide. I also have a standard "intro" for all my videos that I would like to play before the slide shows up.

kind of like

Intro (15 seconds) -----> slide/audio from microphone

are there any free ways to do this? (granted, i have to purchase the mic)

    Bear in mind you can actually narrate to powerpoint slides.....

    failing that you can record the audio in something as simple as 'sound recorder' which will be installed on any pc, or maybe even compile it all in Windows Movie Maker?

      Camtasia will do that for you if you want to invest the $300 and insure your legacy videos will be good quality.

      If you are looking to do this on the cheap (e.g. free) you should download Audacity and CamStudio and use Windows Movie Maker, as well.

    Try jing...Its free unless you upgrade for 17.99 a year, same as camtasia but i like them both
