Messed up a great ezinearticle can it be fixed?

After submitting an ezinearticle that was doing very and backlinking it for the last 2 weeks or so I discovered that the seo (keyword density was wrong) and i was missing in google because of this. If i change the article and add more keyword phrase will the backlinks i submitted still count or must i start all over again backlinking. Thanks

You can edit the article without problems.
There is no such thing as "wrong" keyword density though.

I would say that getting some more links to the page is going to do quite a bit more for your rankings than changing any keyword percentages on the page.

But you can edit the articles on ezine articles if that is something you wish to do.

I wouldn't mess with a perfectly good article just to one more keyword. A keyword density that is too high could be punished by Google. After you make any changes, you have to resubmit to EA, which takes time. And you have no guarantee the next editor will approve it.

Your time's better spent on a new article.

      I agree here as well!

Also, if you article is down for quite a while it may become de-indexed and then it can be even harder to get it re-indexed by google.

I would simply use that keyword phrase a few more times in the link text pointing at the article (get more backlinks). It will do more good than adding the phrase in the article IMO.

<edit>I say "simply", but sometimes it takes a little effort. ;-)

While I agree it's not worth it to change, ezinearticles just implemented a new system when editing articles. Your original article will stay live the whole time.

Ok thanks for that. I got the email from them that they were going to do that but didn't know they have implemented it already.
