Rant about getting IM Products That Are Defective!

Hello Fellow Warriors,

I just need to vent about Internet Marketing products
distributed by top marketers that are defective. I
choose some products because I want to offer them
to my list, but I can't because the product has something
wrong with it, therefore requiring me to contact the
product owner to let them know that the product has
something wrong with it, so they can fix it.

It is a letdown to get a product, that looks like a great
product and something your subscribers would really
like, only to discover the product is defective in some
way, and you can't offer it to you list, until the
problem is resolved.

I would suggest that product owners really make
a double effort to check their products before
offering them.

Regards,
Debbie

Yes I agree. A little QA would go a long way. A lot of times they just want to release their product so they can get it out there and make money immediately. I think this hurts mire than helps. Check your work and you will have happy customers.

As individuals, we can usually always find something wrong with almost any product that we run across.

    Solution? Create your own products

      Hi Jeremy,
I am confused about your reply, I didn't find something wrong with these two products, There was something wrong with these two products. I believe that when you pay for a product you expect to get a product that you can offer to your subscribers if you have resell rights or you are an affiliate. Product errors happen, I am just saying that product creators might be extra careful, and do some last minute Quality Control. I happen to think that these two marketers are great marketers and offer useful products, so I am not finding fault with them.

Maybe I am misreading your statement here, but just because you are an affiliate for a product doesn't give you the right to distribute the product to your list.

Perhaps you were just trying to say that the product needs to work before you push it as an affiliate, correct?

Correct! Exactly. I want to be sure that a product works if I am a reseller and offer the product to my list, or if I am an affiliate for the product, I want to be sure that the product that I promote to my list works as advertised. Sorry, I didn't communicate my thoughts as clearly as I thought. :-)

I have a few of those that I got in package deals.

It looks like the products were defective when they released them and discovered it very quickly so they stopped selling them then started dumping it off as PLR bonuses.

That bugs me too. If the videos in the package are screwed up then make a note and tell us the videos are worthless. If it's the ebook but the videos are fine, then same thing. Let me know.

    Deb,

I don't understand the point of your post. Perhaps I am misunderstanding what you are saying.

If a product is defective, then that is an issue between you and the person you bought it from.

Or are you saying you try to sell things to your list only to find out afterwards that it is defective.

    Clarify please.

      Sam,

Exactly! I am talking about items that you plan to offer your subscribers or have offered your subscribers and found that there was something wrong with the product.
It is just that you read the salespage and are all excited about getting the product because it sounds like a great product that you will be able to offer your subscribers
and of course you will be able to use too, so you get the product, and there is something wrong with it, so you will not be able to offer it either for sale or as an affiliate, that is what I am saying. So my thoughts were that perhaps the product creator could take some more time to make sure that the product doesn't have errors.

    Debbie,

By "defective", do you mean "broken" (e.g. malfunctioning software/script), or "crappy" (e.g. poorly written ebook)? Or both?

      Hi Curtis,

I mean one of the products had viruses in it, and the other has links to 404 error pages. I am sure they are very small problems that were overlooked, but the point of my post was that I was interested in these products because I saw them as useful products to either promote or sell to my list, and then find that they were not ready to present to my list.
When you purchase a product you have an expectation. I am sure these problems will be taken care of, but that wasn't the point I was trying to get across.

There's no excuse for the viruses, but how old are these products? Links don't last forever.

    Debbie:

Don't want to be mean, but how do you know for sure it's the product, and not something else?

I had a customer who had a problem with one of my products, and it turned out the be his video card driver causing the problem. That was a strange one indeed.

With all the hardware configurations in PC's, I'm surprised windows works as well as it does (or that it even works at all). Just getting that down pat must take a ton of work.

Here's what to do: Jot down exactly what kind of error you're getting, and feed it into google. See what the results are, more than likely it's not something with the software, but somewhere else.

Avast finds a virus in a program I use. I have to disable Avast to use the program. It's actually spyware. If I want to use the program, which I do I just have to live with it. I.would certainly tell my customer about it and about the work around if I was selling that program.
