As you all probably know by now, google has started google buzz! basically a twitter copy with the advantage of it being integrated with gmail, which means that the huuuuge number of people using gmail will automatically become buzz users.. dyu guys think this will hit it off like twitter?? heres a few points i've come up with

pros:
1) Already huge gmail customers will use this
2) Integrated with mail so that u dont have to separately open another site
3) Integrated with photos and videos , more appealing to everyone.

cons:
1) Twitter is already established and people will be too lazy to shift
2) Integrated with mail!! ur inbox will be filled with comments let by people about ur buzzz!
3) No support for API's as of now

I believe they are just releasing the api so should not be long before all sorts of apps are popping up. Come join my Buzz.

Buzz is one of the silliest things that Google has come up with.
It's like a personal twitter application, and has already caused serious privacy issues.

Hmm no thanks. Correct me if Im wrong but hasnt everything Google made (besides their SE of course) been a miserable failure in terms of market share. Gmail, Froogle, their payal alternative, Chrome etc)

    PS: I love Gmail though

      Ernie,

I hear ya about Google. But we tend to think in terms of the western culture. Google also launched Orkut a long time ago. Over a billion members, mostly from Brazil and India.

Don't forget Google also introduced Adwords. (yea, I know, they were not the first to do PPC) Adwords dwarfs anything else out there for profit. Consider that Google's 4th Q 2009 profit was
$5.7 Billion. Jeez Luise! I'm not about to count them out in anything.

Having said that, I'm not about to jump into Buzz without taking a LONG look at its development. I hear there are seriously privacy concerns. But anyway, I love Twitter, not for its networking but for its wealth of real time info. Facebook? For friends and family, as far as I'm concerned.

  • Google already knows enough about me. I'm not using Buzz and probably won't.

Not interested in any of Google's new products. After Sidewiki and now Buzz, with privacy concerns, I am opting for a whole lot less Google. I just deleted all my contacts from Gmail, opted out of Buzz and deleted info from my profile.
