        Hello, Shlomi!

I took a look at your page and noticed a few things that might help.

        1. When I visit your site, your opt in box doesn't stand out.

        2. Your offer is not in your opt in box, it's over to the right, so when they look at your opt in box it doesn't say what they are getting for free.

        3. I would actually move the spot of where you have the opt in box to the middle or to the right. I know you are thinking of how people view a web page when they come to it, but it just doesn't stand out there.

        4. Try using common tactics like an arrow pointing to the opt in box

        5. Try putting a picture of the ebook in the opt - in box.

There are a ton of things you could do. Play around with it, do some split testing.

PS. Don't make all these changes at once, do one at a time and measure the results...this will help you become more efficient in the future and will help you learn what's working and what isnt'...sometimes (most times) it's a combination of things.

        Good luck friend!

Had me scratching my head...You might look into editing your grammar and spelling a bit. I'm not getting a strong "English is my first language" feeling about it.

        (Finally...something I KNOW about!)

Why not implement the substance of your plr content then and answer your own question through experience???

You are making the classic newbie mistakes.

I appears that you are attempting to teach website owners
how to attract/generate/capture traffic, but from your query
you really don't have any experience or knowlege on how to
      make that happen.

How can you teach on something that you do not know?

How are you going to monetize this?

If it's PLR content, doesn't it elaborate on what YOU should
be doing, or is it just a bunch of gibberish that you can't
      implement yourself?

Why don't you try learning and mastering something else
and teaching it to others. Focus on a niche that you
already know about from your own life experience, not
from PLR or other people's ebooks.

If you're not going to take my above advice, please take
some time to proofread and correct your current site - it
is not very professional - that might be another problem.

Here is my take on the matter.

If you are trying to use suggestion to influence someone to do something, it is best if they do not know what you are trying to accomplish.

For example....let's say I'm trying to sell you a "widget" of some type and I have memorized several very good closing techniques.

What if before I used these techniques I said "Check out this great closing technique I'm going to use on you."

You would be very, very resistant and the technique would be ineffective.

The key in guiding someone to do what you what is that they shouldn't know you are trying to get them to do something. There are exceptions of course.

To me, the page puts me off because:

You want to teach me how to capture visitor info....but you need my info first!

It is immediately apparent that you are using a technique on me and that makes me very resistant to follow through. Imagine if you read a sales letter about selling that said "This is a great sales letter and my techniques will make you give me money."

Imagine if you read a sales letter about hypnosis that said "I am using hypnotic words right now. I am hypnotizing you to give me your money."

You would actively resist the techniques because all of us have a desire not to be manipulated.

So, you say your offer is about PLR...why did you pick this subject to get opt-ins?

I think you should change the offer. It is obvious that you are using the techniques offered in your report to get me to opt-in...therefore I am resistant to fall for it.

No one likes to be "Captured."

I think you need to elaborate alot more before you try to get them to sign up to anything.

Also you are not making the report seem appealing enough. You have to let the visitor know why they NEED the report. Not why they 'may just want' it.

This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to throw my computer through
        a stain glass window.

Guy walks into a training office to learn anger management.

Trainer says, "Have a seat, I'll be right with you."

Secretary walks in and says, "Mr. Jones, your 4:30 training session was
        just canceled"

Mr. Jones goes into a tirade, starts throwing books around the room, takes a
paperweight and throws it through the window and then proceeds to shoot
        his trainee with a tazer.

Mad? No, mad isn't the word. I'm disgusted. This is what turns this
industry into the mess that it is at times. People who have no idea
how to make money, trying to teach other people how to make
            money.

Before you try to sell anything like this, first find out if you know
HOW to build a list and make money from it. THEN after you figure
out how to do it, THEN you can teach others.

            It's that simple.

The problem is deeper than you just making a mistake.

You're going to get other new people who are hoping that you will provide
them with the answers they need, having no idea that they're just being
                led by the blind.

That is not only a mistake, but it's unfair to the people who are in need
of real help. They end up wasting their time with somebody who doesn't
know any more than they do.

This is why we get so many people bitching about products that don't
                work.

This is the kind of stuff that makes me believe that this industry needs
some regulation, that before people can sell products teaching other
people to make money, they have to become certified in some way.

                    No he is not right!

The fact is that you don't have to know anything about your product to sell it and to say that one needs to know it first is just just a plain lie.

Do all MRR and RR product owners know the product they have rights to resell?

Do affiliates know anything about the product they are promoting during pre-launch?

Do affiliates know anything about any product they are promoting aside from the commission payouts?

Do all product owners know anything about the product that was outsourced to a ghost writer or software developer on a topic or technical aspect that they are not well versed in?

I respect you because in the very least you're putting your best foot forward and seeking to understand what is missing to increase Opt-in conversion rates which would also be of benefit to others who follow this thread.

                      That's not the point.

The point is that if his report isn't worthless horse crap, he should be able to read through it, implement it's teachings, and solve his own problem. No need to ask for help here if the report actually works.

I am a Lady and would ask you to please address me as such.

I apologize but I was not referring to you specifically, but to the
problem of brand new (as far as I know) users coming onto the
forum with requests for advice, when it seems that they haven't
bothered to spend any time here trying to absorb the wealth of
                      knowledge that's available so freely.

And there seems to be a trend of these same newbies promoting
some sort of get-rich-quick scheme when they, themselves, could
not find their way out of a paper bag.

There are other forums that would ban them on-the-spot!

But anyhoo, I don't wish to argue so I shall be moving along.

Good luck in your future endeavors.

Whoa, there, Steve. That's crazy talk!

We do NOT need that at all. I think that you made a good point about needing to actually make money online before trying to teach people about how to do it, but I'd rather not have a ton of people (in black suits, wearing black shades) telling me what I can and can't do online.

Besides, people that don't have "proof in the pudding" don't ever last that long, my friend.

                      Steve,

Articlerelated said it was a plr product he was selling. In other words, HE is NOT the teacher of the subject, and he's been forthright and honest about his learning level in IM. He was just asking for advice about how to increase his optin page's conversions.

                      Articlerelated,

This is one thing in IM, so far, that I can honestly say I'm really good at. Not because I learned it all by myself, but because I have great teachers.

                      Bullet Points.

Go through that book again, and highlight the parts that helped you the most, or what you feel are great lessons for your visitors to learn.

Don't stop 'til you have at least 6 of these points highlighted.

Edit: I'll write one up real quick as an example and post it here.

Now, in your own words start writing short sentences under your optin form, preferably ones that begin with the words "You will learn", that describe the BENEFITS your future optin subscribers will learn.

I'd also make the text on your page larger and/or in a different font.

Sounds like you're really trying to learn, and you're serious about helping others and that's cool. I'm sure others will pitch in with other great suggestions.

Apparently, I am confused by a lot of the crude remarks I have read in this string, because I have just looked at your provided signature link and I did not even see an opt-in box. It just looked like another affiliate program to me. Granted, I did not peruse it like I had real interest in searchiing for another affiliate program, but I did, nevertheless, look at the link.

My biggest problem with this string was the cruelty of some of the comments. Anyone ever heard; "If you can not say anything nice/Productive, do NOT say anything at all.

p.s. Yes, I to am new to the marketing scene, and I am certain I have/will make mistakes, I just hope those that help me correct them are not cruel in doing so. Also, Shlomi, I realize some of the comments were not very nice, but you should never cuss in writing your responses.

                            Bad advice.

You could be the world's greatest widget weaver so if you chose to devote all of your energy and resources ($$$) into that niche, you'd be very disappointed and only you are to blame, not someone else if that market is dry.

Also, you'll never learn anything new unless you GET INVOLVED with it.

Funnily enough, everyone did not start out as an expert... they all started the way you did... they failed, failed, failed, failed and failed many, many more times until they GOT IT!

The same people blasting you are the same folks who know absolutely NOTHING about many of the niche topical articles they write every day then submit for traffic generation purposes.

It's up to you to choose your own poison.

                            Best of luck, dude.

                              Ok, I'm taking a second look.....much better!

Now, we have something we can work with.

                              Some further tips:

                              1. Your opt in form is huge. Shrink that bad boy down so I don't have to scroll to fill in my info. That is a turnoff in the worst way.

                              2. Take that headline, make it red tahoma font at 24pt to grab the visitors attention. Don't worry about making epileptics go into fits, that's all a myth.

                              3. Try moving that second opt in form below all text. This way, people who read can get all the info before opting in.

Split test these suggestions one at a time. The ones that work, keep, the ones that don't ashcan.

Come back when you have the good news on how much improvement you're getting out of this so we can all celebrate with you.

Eh, don't let it get you down, Shlomi.

You really have two options at this point:

continue working with what you have, and (likely) quit when you don't get any results and tell everyone "you can't make money on the internet!"

or two, take some time and dig around these forums to find something that does work. There are many many available niches and ideas just waiting for someone to tap into...that have nothing to do with "how to make money on the internet."

    Play to your strengths.

Apart from the issues mentioned above, if your not getting people opting in to your list the first thing you need to look at is you traffic stats.

    Are you getting any traffic?

It may sound like a stupid question but you can spend all the time in the world tweaking your optin page but if no one's seeing it, whats the point?

Drive traffic first and then look at tweaking your optin page.

      Hi,

Yes, you can re-direct the traffic to an affiliate page...

In the meantime, your page needs to be improved also!

Look above in this thread and Andrew has
      pointed out some improvements...

Look at other products (in your niche or not)
to get an idea of what your page needs etc.

        1. Do you really think anyone wants to join an "email club"
        2. "Capture Your Visitors" sounds about as interesting as a medical or law journal. Rename it.
        3. A good number of your visitors may not even know what you mean by it. Know how your market speaks.
        4. A bad cover graphic does more damage than no cover graphic at all.
        5. Your "limited time" claim sounds like B.S. fluff. Be specific about the limitations and give a reason for them.
        6. Your testimonials (which I presume are made up) are weak and sound made up. Be specific. Give the names as well as city and state (and web url if possible) of the REAL people giving testis.
        7. The shrinking/color changing "Get it Right Now" link is extremely annoying
        8. The bullet points are REALLY WEAK

Hey man you keep taking the wrong attitude about this.

      THIS WAS NOT A WASTE.

You learned what NOT to do.

You learned what will not work for you. This is valuable.

8 out of 10 things you try might end up not working. Keep failing as quickly as possible.

      Fail upward.

The free report is the incentive for people giving you their email address. If they can download the report without opting in, most of them won't. Keep either "sign up to receive your newsletter" option or the "sign up to receive your free report" option, not both.

If you go with the newsletter option, tell them SPECIFICALLY what they're going to get for signing up. Just saying "useful information and free stuff" doesn't inspire. They can get "free stuff" anywhere. Why should they sign up with YOUR newsletter?

        Best of Luck!

    Shlomi:

Your squeeze page is set up backwards.

From what I can see, you have the download for the report right above the subscribe link.

    Hey Shlomi,

I know you are feeling like you've been skinned, gutted and put on a spit over a hot fire, but these folks are trying to help you (tough love!) while also expressing their frustration because you are attempting to give advice on something you don't understand yourself. Something all too common on the net (and gives the rest of us a bad name).

About your squeeze page...The grammar and syntax was all wrong. It causes the reader's mind to "catch", to stop and ask, "what'd he just say?" The flow of your message gets interrupted by the words and there usage. You didn't capitalize the first words in your sentences. The choice of words and the improper syntax of those words kills your copy.

And, as was mentioned before, the page comes across as "I'll teach you to collect peoples contact information so you can market to them. Enter your contact information, below, and I'll show you how it's done"... Well that pretty much eliminates the need to read the report, they can see how you do it.

I realize that english is not your first language. You just need someone to proof read your copy to make sure you've got it right.

I'm glad you have now chosen a topic that you know a lot about for your new project. This will go along way towards establishing you as an authority in your field and make it easier to monetize your writing.

I know you feel like you've been jumped and ambushed, here, so I will make an offer to you to help make up for the wounds that have been inflicted.

PM me and we will arrange for you to forward your latest writing project to me and I will proof read it, make grammatical corections and send it back to you, for free. Let's get that part right, then it will have a much better chance of selling.

I've asked for refunds for products I've bought where the sales page was perfect, but when I got my report, it was written is some "Pigeon English" that just made no sense. If english is not your first language, then it is very advisable to get a proof reader to make sure you are expressing yourself properly...maintain the flow.

You'll get it right. You just have to go though some growing pains. There's a learning curve involved.

Remember, the responses that you received, although somewhat harsh, were meant to help you grow and succeed.

Take care, buddy, and let me know if you would like me to do that free proof reading on your project.

    Later,

    Adam

First of all, change you font to "Arial", The font you have is extremly cold and automatically puts people on "offence".

Move your opt in form to the top of the page so its the first thing people see. If you can not move it to the top for some reason, move it to the RIGHT and NOT the LEFT of the page... ( People read from Left to Right, so you want there eyes to LAND on the FORM) You do NOT want to people to seach for the form becuase they will not, as you know!

You need SOMTHING to POP off the page FIRST ( im not talking about pop ups, im talking about text that talks to people ) this is to capture there attention and grow interest, if you can not do this, then they will simply leave, as you know! IF you can do this then you have about 2 seconds or less to get them to KNOW exactly what you what them to do next.

Your blue backgraund is nice as far as colors go, but it does NOT engage the viewer in anyway. Choose a diferant color!

Simply say "enter your email for a free report!" or somthing like that... THEN explain why after the form, then put ANOTHER form to capture emails after you have explained why.

Do not explain what the will need to do inorder to download the product... IF IT SEEMS HARD ATALL THEY WILL NOT DO IT ( as you know! ).

MAINLY... REMEMBER YOUR GOAL IS TO GET THERE EMAIL... NOT GIVE THEM ANOTHER PRODUCT. SO MAKE IT SEEM LIKE A SMART THING FOR THEM TO ENTER THERE EMAIL ADDRESS.

Make the product seem more valueable... Atlease say its free... IT HAS-TO BE A NOBRAINER!

NEVER question the VALUE of CLICK HERE, as far as your download link goes.

Other than that... Your doing good!

You sould REALLY read my WSO... Its called "Your Marketing Checklist"... It would really help you... I dont remember how much it is! But I think its like $7 or somthing... If you are interested then send me a private message.

    Thanks

O- Ya, Give them the free product AFTER they give you there email adress... PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO GIVE THERE EMAIL ADRESS AWAY AT ALL... You have to traid them "there email" for "your free report"

I was focusing on your comment about the report, and a little unclear about what you were really trying to teach. I should have been more focused on the content that your subscribers were going to learn.

But if you're going to provide content that you're already proficient at, and you can document your success then by all means, go for it.

I retracted because I didn't read enough of the thread I should have in the first place. I've been feeling a little out of place lately and felt I jumped the gun a little. This was my fault.

    Hope this clears things up.
