How do you build your list?

I am creating a new product and I would like some of your input please. What are ways you use to build your mailing list?

Currently I have...
1) Traffic Exchanges - Squeeze and Splash Pages
2) Safelists - Squeeze and Splash pages
Branding yourself
3) Give away events
4) Free Report Torrent Files
5) Blogging
6) Article Marketing

Pleas add to the list and share some insight thank you!

    I find it useful to contribute value suggestions to the various forums here and have a link in my signature! Surprisingly this has led to a considerable increase in subscribers.

    I think it really depends upon your niche.

    For myself, currently Twitter is my #2 source to gain subscribers. The key is to stay close to your niche (especially with who you follow), post interesting things (and ask questions too) and never post about joining your list.

    Besides mentioning how to join my list in my Bio, I never post about my site or encourage anyone to go there, and the results...I can trace 10-20 new subscribers everyday thanks to Twitter.

    Intergration marketing: putting up your ad on other people's thank you/download page etc in return for doing the same for them. You can get a ton of subscribers/buyers etc
