INTERNET MARKETING

How can I cloak my affiliate links on a site I'm going to launch soon? (not a blog?)

Also, I just ran a google search for a keyword I made a squidoo lens on, and my lens came up as the number 1 entry after the paid entry. I thought that was too good to be true considering it was on the second page a few days ago. I hopped on internet explorer and repeated, finding it to be back where it used to be on the second page... Why does this happen?

If you haven't got your own hosting then you can use this service:

TinyURL.com - shorten that long URL into a tiny URL

It won't give the prettiest links but it is free.

If you don't want to buy something like the Phantom Link Cloaker then another freebie site to use is bit.ly - a simple url shortener - this gives you a kind of anchor text option to make the link more specific.

buy your own domain and use a redirect. on hostgator you can set up sub directory redirects for multiple products. THe hosting will cost you $10 a month.

  Warrior Alan Petersen wrote a great guide on link cloaking. He includes both free and pay methods.
  
  It's only ten bucks and he's running a WSO on it. Do a search for him and you'll find his WSO thread.
  
  BTW: I don't know Alan, nor do I have any vested interest in his WSO. My only connection is as a satisfied customer who bought the guide last year.

I use the stand alone version of Free Link Cloaker from a fellow warrior.

It makes your links say www.YourDomain.com/recommends/keyword

Been using it for a long time and it has never let me down.

Hi Mate,

Dont cloak with those URL shortening services.

If they go down...do does all your future
commissions. I recommend you host your
own cloaked links.

An example would be...

www.yourwebsite.com/link.php or
www.yourwebsite.com/go/link.php
www.yourwebsite.com/recommends/link.php

I hope that makes sense?

A simple php redirect will work.

you can use a PHP redirect to cloak your links. just google PHP redirect

  Try this... it is for a .htm or .html file.
  
  first in your root folder make a folder called recommend
  
  then name your .html or htm file the same as the affiliate program you are promoting.
  
  for example... warriorforum.html or warriorforum.htm
  
  use notepad or any other text editor.. to add this to the file.
  
  <html>
  <body>
  <script language="JavaScript">
  
  </script>
  </body>
  </html>
  
  replace affiliateurlhere.com above with your affiliate url..
  
  now save as warriorforum.html or warriorforum.htm or what ever your affiliate product is called.
  
  then up load that file to your recommend folder you created earlier..
  
  so the url you will use in your emails or on your site in..
  
  http://www.yourdomain.com/recommends/warriorforum.html
  
  Hope this helps.

I use cloak n rotate because you can rotate your links to see which offers convert best. Can you rotate the links with the above codes?

Also I was told that using these cloakers give back links to the cloaker URL. That's why they don't mind giving them out for free or at a low price.

Or is this something you should not be concerned about?
