Viewing way beyond Google ( etc) pages 1 & 2 ....

I need more than one dental implant so instead of paying full whack here in the UK I thought I'd check out the " Dental tourism" approach, especially as an advance in dental implanting ie " same day implanting" is now pretty common place. For instance, there are quality offers ranging from Israel to India to Costa Rica etc. Therefore, even with a holiday ( vacation) thrown in I'd still be able to save a heck of a lot of money.

So I checked Google and searched for same day implants. It suddenly occurred to me that as I was trawling through the various results pages I didn't pay any special regard to those on page one or two etc but was equally scrutinizing what was on offer way beyond that point.

I also know that on other occasions, when searching for entirely different types of product or service, the fact that something lies on page one or two is a big deal and I'd rarely trawl through the pages in so natural a manner as I did for the dental search.

It then further occured to me that there is probably a whole range of products and services where this sort of dynamic applies.

Ok, I know it's just very vague and sort of " just a hunch" type of scenario but I can't help thinking it has some marketing significance. Or maybe I'm just stating the obvious.

Like I say, though, way into my search I did think ..." hey, I never usually bother reading so many pages, and clicking the odd link here and there, under normal circumstances".

One thing came to mind and that was drawing up a list of the types of products/services that would lead to, or even necessitate, a long trawl through results rather than those searches that would tend tend to be satisfied with just pages 1 & 2 ( and maybe pages 3 & 4 max).

Any thoughts/comments? Or again, am I just stating the obvious and it only merits a big fat ...doh!

Cheers

  • When someone is in research mode, they tend to dig deeper if they don't find what the need.

Here's my story, dumb one at that but I've gotten over it.

I use to be self conscious of my skin colour, I was born in spain with a spanish dad and an english mum. Unfortunately my mum having irish roots I got her genes and obviously really white.

I went searching for an answer, a way in which I could cheat my body into going tanned, without using those fake products.

I came across a product called melanotan. Basically a substance you injected that forced your body to produce melanin and slowly make you tan. It also increased libido meaning after each injection I had a rock on I could not remove lol xD

Moving away from that, my self consciousness drove me to go through over 30+ google page results, and I'd always look for certain words, if it match my criteria I'd open it in a new tab, until I had 15 tabs open. I'd stop my search and start reading.

That process was done with over 10+ keywords over a few days before I saw melanotan. Which as far as I know nowadays they are doing nasal sprays for tanning (or atleast trying to).

And for those people wondering, yes it does work but they have no idea of the risks later on... So i was dumb to take it.

If you can exploit peoples self consciousness, it may be profitable to have several different pages across page 1-2-3-4-5+ and so on...

    Just sayin..

    Yep, Jason...it's that simple, obviously.

I was just thinking of times when it wasn't so easy to get a high page ranking that certain types of product/service being marketed, rather than others, would help offset that disadvantage. Of course it would need some detailed research to conclude whether or not such an offsetting of the disadvantage would also actually be viable and profitable, mind you.

    { a touch of Irish in you, eh? Well, my parents and all my grandparents are & were Irish though I was born and bred in England.I'm A dual citizen with two passports and I'm appreciative and loyal to both nations...in spite of history. Somedays I'm an Irish Englishman and somedays I'm an English Irishman }

  • To be honest I've a bit of everything that the easiest thing to say is I'm either spanish or english lol.

My mum's english, my dads spanish, my grandads irish, my grandma (passed away) is english, my step grandma is polish, my auntie is english, her husband is italian, her boys (my cousins) are italian.

Though my mum and my aunt have the same stories. They both went abroad, met my dad and uncle in spain and italy. Got married, had 2 kids in spain (both the same, but my aunt in italy) and came to the uk before my nan passed away. So both me and my brother are spanish, and both my cousins are italian.

The same story with different countries.

And my uncle is called Luigi how cool is that heh.
