Beware of Facebook entrapment

My account was recently flagged for basically adding too many people to my friends list in a short period of time. My activity was described by facebook as "suspicious and annoying." as their explanation for why it was flagged. Here's the kicker, Facebook kept shooting out friend suggestions in a projectile manner one right after another. So I simply added the people they suggested as I was thinking "Hey I know this person." and many suggestions were the same people who were already on my list or people I had already requested. My advise is simply be careful and don't engage in too many or the same activities at a time.

Thats funny and strange and a bit stupid how they do that, considering facebook was the one that kept recommending you to add certain people.

    Thanks for the tip =)

Once I had a decent number of friends, friend request started comming to me. I get about 20/day and I simply accept. I was able to get a large friend count mainly because my profile image is something that is on topic for the interest of the kind of friends I am looking for.

Be aware of another factor fb use to flag accounts: the acceptance rate of friend requests.
hat's why you should add a little message that reminds people who you are.

Isn't facebook about connecting? Why do they punish you for doing what they are there for in the first place?

    Go figure.

If that system wasn't there, marketers and spammers would abuse the system...

        I 3rd this .....

Just adding people left and right may not be the best thing to do anyways... Most of the time those "suggestions" are not by facebook but by other friends you have and they suggested them ..

If interested in them just add a few at a time ..

"If you have 3500 and your account was not flagged for adding too many friends, you probably have not even sent too many requests that were not confirmed"

    That is true.

My profile pic is of my custom Mustang. I target car enthusiasts and most accept my request.

Maybe there is a lesson here. Stick to one area of interest and reflect it in your profile pic.

Living in Facebook's world (just like any other company's) is dangerous, do be careful. Taking it slow is your best bet.

    Hope it all works out.

What I don't get is, Facebook warns you about this, if you are adding friends to fast, a little popup comes up and says that you are adding friends to fast, slow down or else. I am guessing that you ignored the popup?

I'm curious how many friends did you add at one time? Did they send an email saying your page was flagged? I thought I had added a large amount in a short period but they didn't flag it. But that is stupid to suggest friends for you to add if you've been flagged for adding to many.
