Facebook Fan Page Help

Hey everybody,

I am a complete noob to Facebook and we have a Fan Page with a few thousand fans for an Offline disposal company that I own.

My partner and I have personal FB accounts that are fans of the page and today we send our first ever update message through the promote your page section just a little while ago-about 30 minutes.

The problem is that my partner and I both checked out personal accounts and neither of us had a new message. We sent the blast out not too long ago today about a special we are running.

Is there some kind of time limit before our fans receive our updates? Spam filter??

Sorry for such a noob question...we just would like to be able to get our messages to our fans!

    Are the people in your personal account interested in what your fan page is about? Usually on a personal account you just have friends and family. You have to go out and find people that are interested in what you got. Post relevant content on the fan page regularly. Then interact with those interested in the niche. They will then check out your home page and you will have the fan page news on your home page. They also will see it appear in the suggested area because you like it. People join pages they are interested in.

      Hey Travis,

      Thank you for your reply, maybe my question is unclear I am sorry.

      All of our fans JOINED our page through our company website, we have not marketing our fan page any other way. We own a fairly large local disposal company and our fans joined through our site for updates.

      ***MY QUESTION IS***
      - My personal FB account is a FAN of my BUSINESS Fan Page which has thousands of FANS. We sent out our very FIRST message to our fans through a status update. I did NOT receive the message in my personal account. So I was curious if I sent the message to our fans properly****

      I am new to the internet marketing world, but own a successful offline company. so basically i am having trouble everytime i try to bring the offline world online. We have hired people to do a lot of our seo and such...but as I started doing it myself I started enjoying it!

      So anyway, it looks like the messages did come through, because we had a few people book some appointments online from the offer and it was only send through the message!

      Just curious where it shows up on someones personal page because I do not have any NEW messages on my personal FB account and I am a fan of our business!

        Okay i figured it out, I am sorry to waste any ones time, i am such a noob to this stuff!

        In case anyone wants to know.

        It didn't show up as a new message. It showed up in the messages under updates!

        Weird though because if a friend sends me a message a little red number shows up in the top left by messages without me even clicking...

        Oh well guess thats how it works with updates via fan pages!

    Awesome, you got some orders. I would just say interact with them more to grow your business even more. Ask questions, ask for feeback, see how you can improve what you're doing. Customers always like that.

    I must be mistaken of the fan messages showing on the home page. I haven't been on facebook in a while. I outsource all that these days.

          Next what you will want to do is hook up your facebook page and twitter in a Ping.fm account - plus you can add other social sites if desired. Then just type in a message at ping and voila you update all your sites at once.

          The trick will be to make sure you do it correctly so you update the FBfan page and not your FB page and so that you post links.

            I use Hootsuite to do this easily.
