Cost of websites for information products?

I am a newbie to internet marketing and I am in awe of the experience level of the folks on this forum! I have read a few hundred posts already and will continue to work my way through the entire site as time passes.

I do have some questions that I am sure folks here can answer.

I have several information products/reports being developed that I want to sell via the internet, autoresponder, etc. I have a writing/training background and feel very comfortable creating the actual product, but I do not possess technical knowledge/skills.

Obviously, I plan to hire someone to produce the websites for my products. I am in need of advice regarding what kind of IT shop/vendor I should approach to do this work.

Also, I'd appreciate if someone would give me a general estimate of what it costs to develop a site such as the one the link leads to. This is not my website, but it is the general format I want to use to sell my products. I literally have no idea who would do this work for me and what it would cost.

    Hello and welcome!

    Good for you to taking action and getting your product/site ready.

    The site in your link is what is commonly known as a mini-site. Since you're creating a small site for your sales letter to promote your product.

    Cost varies depending on the designer but a mini-site like in that link you provided will cost anywhere from $50-200. Check out the WSO forum since you'll find many talented designers running WSO for their design skills. Check out a WSO from Semmy he's done two sites for me and he does great job and an incredible price. $50-80 depending which package you select.

    The important part is that you get your mini-site design in HTML so all you need to do is open in it in an HTML editor to add your text. Then you just upload it to your server.

    I would suggest use ClickBank for your product since you'll have access to thousands of affiliates and ClickBank handles the payments etc.

      Are you saying that Semmy or others can produce a mini-site similar to the one I posted the link to for $50-80?

      I plan on having as many as a dozen mini-sites operating within the next year and potentially a good number more during the following two years. I already have several products finished or near completion.

      I am wondering if this info would cause you or anyone else here to provide different advice or guidance, knowing that I plan on having a good number of mini-sites operating simultaneously?

        I can also do minisite for you. I give them to you in an html template ready to paste in your text. I have a good special going right now at http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...om-prices.html

        I would still say that it's the way to go.

        The design fee for each site is the cost of doing business. You can use WordPress blogs since they have many themes that are free. But for my own products I create a new mini-site for each.

        I've paid anywhere from $50 to $150 for each design. Which comes with header, footer, graphics like e-book covers, etc. So for each site you're looking at around $50-100 for the design.

        $7.15 for the domain (I use Go Daddy with the code oyh3).

        ClickBank charges $50 per account so if you setup a new account for each product you'll have to pay $50 each time. There are other alternitves like e-junkie which charges $5/per month for up to 10 products but with ClickBank you get to tap into their army of affiliates which is very nice. There is also software which lets you have multiple products with one CB account but then only one is in the marketplace.

        Sorry I'm rambling but basically when it's all said and done you're probably looking at around $150 to get a site up which is pretty low to start a new business. That's if you already have hosting. You'll need that. Host Gator is pretty good it will cost you around $7/month but you can host multiple sites on one account.

        That's just to hang your shingle up. You can also use sales letter templates that don't have any graphics. There are a few out there for free but at the very least I suggest getting an e-book/report cover done by a professional designer.

        I'm not sure of your knowledge base on this stuff so I hope I didn't confuse you! It's not hard to get your site up. Product creation is what a lot of folks struggle with and you already have several products created so you're way ahead already. :-)

    Never mind, I'll just say this one thing.

    If you state you have no idea, then be prepared to be "sold to"

    There are sections of this forum, like programmers for hire, website designers, section, who would give you a better and greater idea of what is needed.
    Post again to that section of the board.
    You'll find what you are looking for.

    Marine - the information you have received about cost of developing minisites is accurate, but remember two BIG aspects that will impact your results...

    1. Your copy. Even though you will get a website shell for $50-$200, your copy will impact your sales the most and for that, it can take a great deal of work OR several thousand dollars. Better to get one site converting at 2% or higher than to have a bunch of sites at <1%

    2. Traffic generation - having 12 sites doesn't do anything for you if you can't organize an ecosystem of content, affiliate traffic and other traffic generation systems that will mean a steady supply of high-quality, relevant traffic to your sites.

    I'm a bigger fan of helping my clients get one niche mini-site and info product converting well, then building out that market into multiple back-end offers rather than having 12 somewhat unrelated, low-end info products.
