How do you promote your articles which are in article directories?

If you have submitted articles to article directories - and you can make those articles rank higher in Google, then the links from those articles pushes you higher.

So what do you do to promote articles at article directories (such as eZineArticles, GoArticles etc)?

If I want to promote an article I promote it much the same way I promote any other slice of web real estate.

And I'd never stick to just one form of promotion. You need some check boxes rather than radio buttons in your poll

I'm just thinking about posting an useful article in a forum like this with link back to the article.I think if the article is very good to be shared in a forum like this and you are the author for the article, you can do it. BTW you need to abide the forum rules
    Thank you.

I don't get too carried away with this - a little social bookmarking is all I usually do (with Onlywire - very quick and automated) - occasionally I will backlink from one article to another if it has really good clickthru rate, or has the potential to rank for a strong and uncompetitive keyword.

I generally think though that my time is better spent build backlinks and promoting my own sites rather than ezine articles I post

A combination of all the techniques is always going to carry the greatest benefit.

First I would create an article, then I'd interlink my other articles in such a way that they would promote each other. Then I'd move on to social bookmarking and making sure my RSS was submitted to a number of directories.

I'd carry on getting backlinks and then 'back my winners', by this I mean - figure out which articles are now actually ranking, delivering some traffic and then concerntrate on increasing those rankings

RSS Feeds, Social Bookmarking, Spinning and Posting up on various web 2.0 sites, doing a powerpoint presentation and converting it to video and PDF which are uploaded to tons of video and ppt sites. These are just a few methods you could use.

I agree, you can't just use one method like social bookmarking - it's got to be the whole package to reap the fullest benefit.
