How To Change Text In Header.

I am trying to alter some text in a header graphic. I have downloaded gimp but can't figure out how it works. All I want to do is delete some text and alter another line.

Can someone please point me to a gimp tutorial that even I can understand? Or even to another piece of software that will do the job.

Thanks.
Gordon.

  • What is the file extension you have to work with? .psd? .jpeg?

    • No sorry,Nathan. You've lost me.

      It's a psd file avenuegirl.

      Thanks.
  • Ctrl + L will open the layers window in Gimp.

    • Hi Gordon,

I have the same problem! I recently purchased a web site, have uploaded all the content and database and am now trying to alter the header which has a psd file extension. Trying GIMP but the image I am working on must be flattened as I cannot seem to edit the text! Ctrl + L is not letting me edit the text.
I am trying to download a trial version of Photoshop as it is expensive but hitting a brick wall with the download!

      Any suggestions?
  • You need a PSD file or XCF file to get to the layer. If you have a jpg or gif and there is just a solid background, you could always just erase the text and add your own. Here's a video I made for my PLR website buyers that might help:
