Hey guys,

I'm pretty new to all of this, been at it for a few weeks now. Read on pretty much every theory out there and have now made a plan and stick to it. Own a few domains, got everything set up. My main project is my personal blog to which the link is guydroog.net - Guy Droog is my name. I mention this because it's an important part of my question, not to spam the link

The blog posts I write for the site also turn into articles that I submit to 400+ article directories and social websites. The part I'm confused about is how effective backlinks are for me. I'm not sure if I know how to form this question right but here goes..

Since backlinks are best formed this way < a href="yourdomain.com">Your Keywords</a > is it of any use for me to have lots of backlinks? I mean there are tons of different articles on my site and my name aren't particularly high traffic keywords.

Now if I do need backlinks, what would be the best way to do this?

My general strategy is to gain blog followers, gain trust and then promote products, combined with quality content, ofcourse.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Guy, Backlinking is a great way to go about things. If you are getting your articles printed in 400+ ezines thats great. I would us your blog to link to some of those articles. Use your face book to link to your blog. This way your are building more back links and at the same time getting people to your articles for list building.

If you search Backlinks on here it will bring you to a a boatload of options for back linking and different theories on it.

You want your backlinks to be terms you want to rank for. Looking quickly at your site let's say you wanted to rank for the term "spartan workout", you would do your backlinks like this < a href="http://guydroog.net">spartan workout</a >.

If done enough your site would appear to google as an authority on "spartan workout" and you would rank for that keyword.

I don't know anything about back links just yet except for all the information I've read on the forum. My understanding is, Keyword research is the number one step, then saturate your posts with the keywords you choose, because the keyword meta tags don't play a big role in page rank. Then you begin building quality back links to your site through any means necessary. Ehow, Squidoo, facebook, Ezine....using your keywords of course

I'm a newbie myself and I wouldn't mind getting some more info on back links either.

Actually don't saturate your posts with your key words. Google doesn't like that. Though you should use it a couple of times per post in your blog or ezine article.

Other than that you are correct in everything else
