Google slaps Amazon sites?

I read something in another thread that kind of scared me: someone claimed that Google contacted them and told them they were delisting the site because it used Amazon affiliate posts. I've never heard of such a thing; does Google really send emails to people with that kind of detail about their websites? I've never had a single email from Google.

Most of my sites are autoposted Amazon affiliate sites, and they do quite a dance, but often end up back on the first or second page. Now I have to wonder if some of the missing sites were actually slapped for having Amazon posts, but I never got any letters from Google. So the big question is, if Google decides it doesn't like my sites because they have Amazon posts, will they contact me with a letter and/or remove my site?

I too read this but cannot think of the title of the thread, I will take a look in my subscriptions but I think the general idea was that if you are simply copy/pasting verbatim what is already available on Amazon why should Google rank you higher than them?

Get some original content to go with your sales buttons and you should be fine

They'll just deindex it. They don't like autogenerated affiliate sites unless they have millions in Silicon Valley venture capital funding behind them.

Are you thinking of this thread? Amazon Blueprint

He mentions that he got deindexed for using auto blogging software. I asked for confirmation and clarification in post #20 and he replies in post #28.

If you don't add value to your posts, but just use the text straight from amazon, apparently Google views your site as a "bridge site."

    Elle,

Yes they do. They started doing it a while ago.

If you are going to use the automation tools and/or argrigators, you need to add fresh original content into the mix. Otherwise they consider the site to be spammy. I sue a ratio of 50 - 50% and my sites are doing okay.

Remember, it is always better to test to see what works best. If you don't, make the time to test in the future. It may very well save your business.

Thanks for the ratio numbers. I've been trying to add a significant amount of content to each post, but this is good to know.

Well, that some in probably wrong because Google doesn't give out information like this. Google has never been open about why they ban or slap people in the past and haven't changed now either.

BTW, I am not calling that person a liar (I don't assume something about people I don't know) but it's exteremly hard to believe that Google will tell someone about why he got banned and especially in such a detail.
