Seriously though...

I think you make it big when you have:

1. Mastered your area of expertise - Article marketing, or whatever
2. All your individual goals are met
3. IMPORTANT - you don't have to worry about retirement because you have so much money saved up and coming in that it would take over 2000 years of hard spending to go dry

My own, personal "big" was concrete stuff for my family..

Homes paid for... cars paid for...

Gave up a monster salary and perks in my father's business and doubled it within a year.

Ca$h and independence were all my goals, targets, dreams..

It was never about selling my own products. I was a six figure affiliate before I even knew what customer service was...lol...

Somehow.. I think my own definition of "big" would probably take this thread on a tangent where it doesn't need to go

For me, it will be when I find myself working from home all the time and not having to worry about another job. Also, when I can travel with my family and having the opportunity to take my computer with me if I want to have the opportunity to work from where ever I want to.

When those you idolized, and thought were the "big" boys start doing promos for YOUR product (It's a very cool feeling)

When you can email those big boys and ask if they wanna promote something you created and you get a response and a yes.

When you put out a product and know just because you are who you are, it will sell.

When you can close the computer and spend a day with the family without worrying about the cash you are losing by not working.

When you come home from a day with the family and go "LOL, well we were out, I made X dollars!) Nothing like passive income

When people start thinking you MUST be doing something illegal, because you dont "work" and have nice things LOL.

I could go on forever too.

I even have a forum online soley dedicated to slagging me off. only 12people in it so far but hey as a get bigger maybe the owner could end up with a decent list. (be really cool if he uses the list to promote my stuff

I would like to say "you have made it big" when you can turn off your computer for a month and come back and all this money is deposited in your bank account. Which some of us can do....

however..

Despite the lifestyle hype, the cold reality is all the "big guys" I know are completely maniacal about their business and i would say work on average work 60 hours a week++.

But becoming a success is just the first step. That needs to be grown and maintained as ones career is a living organism.

So dont believe the hype. When you make your first million, that is when the real work starts. (assuming you want to grow your business and not just bugger off to thailand or something...)

When I started my entrepreneur career, I made a goal that when completely, I would consider I made it to the point I've always wanted. That goal was to be able to buy an Aston Martin DB9 with cash and no worries.

I am not one to limit myself to internet marketing. I would like to get back into the offline market as well, but that's after I establish my brand names with internet marketing.

I would consider I've made it in internet marketing when I can quit my full time job....wait, I did that....sweet, step 1 done. That was my first goal with IM, now onto to the next.

That Aston Martin is calling my name.

You know you've made it big in Internet Marketing when you are making PASSIVE income to cover your entire expenses (plus MORE) while working less than 5 hours a week and has potential to just keep growing.

Why? I consider that more of a true success than someone working 40-60 hours a week but making a lot more money.

When you are sitting at a picnic table beside the river with your family, having a couple of drinks with your wife while playing with the kids and tending to the BBQ, you take a quick look at the laptop and notice you have already made today what you used to make in a month working a normal job.

When I get there I know I've made it big in IM!!
