Help with testimonials, What to bold, underline....

Need some help with these testimonials for a on what to bold what to have stand out.

  • I wouldn't change anything. I'd leave testimonials exactly the way they were given to you.

    In my opinion, changing the emphasis of a word modifies the testimonial in much the same way as changing the word itself would.

  • I like what you have.

    When I put up my testimonials, I put in the persons photo, and put their teatimonial in italic, and make their name a clickable link if they have a website.

    All of this is put in block quotes. Looks good.

    • Good point about that type of formatting.

      However, it's acceptable practice to put quotes of all sorts, testimonials and otherwise, in block quotes or italicization, etc. When I see that I understand it to be related to document formatting that enhances readability. That is, I KNOW it's been done by the (publisher, web designer, etc.).

      But if I see selected words emphasized - emboldened, italicized, etc. - I'm going to assume that emphasis was added by the testimonial-giver. And that's not the case in this example.

      Enhancing readability is not the same as modifying selected words from within the testimonial. I think doing so changes the testimonial.
