The power of IM and the stray dogs
My city (Winnipeg) has an Animal Services Agency: they catch stray dogs and put them up for adoption. We all know what happens with them if they are not adopted for a long time 
Last year the agency went online by joining the petfinder.com - and now each pet up for adoption has a profile that describes its size, gender, activity level.
In the next step volunteers started to write "biographies"... posting pictures, even videos.
They created even a 1,300 members Facebook group.
The result? - the adoption rate went up 62%!
