NEW TYPE OF SELLING - Video Sales-Page?

Hello Everybody!

Lately, I've seen a lot of video sales-pages on Clickbank.
I'm wondering if this is a new marketing trend?

For example:
thedietsolutionprogram.com

fatburningfurnace.com

truthaboutabs.com

What's interesting is that on most of these sell-pages "add to cart" button is hidden. The "add to cart" button is set to appear ONLY at the end of the video.

Take a look here
thedietsolutionprogram.com
After 20 minutes, this button appears

Has anyone experienced increased conversions by promoting these kind of video sales-pages?

I would appreciate your comments.
John

Of course, as you probably noticed, the viewer is likely going to see there is nothing to sell. Just a video to watch and nothing to sell. Then after watching video, the order buttom appears.
    See ya

I don't know about Isabella's conversions but I do know that on Geary and Robs programs you listed, they catagorically did improve their conversions.

Personally I was very surprised, really thought they would plummet but for them and a couple of others in the fitness niche, it's paid dividends.

People get committed, they get 5 minutes into the video and then feel like it's time wasted if they don't get to the end.

There's no distractions, no price to put people off, no text to scroll through, so therefore missing the main sales message.

It just plain flat out works.

You'll also generally find that if somebody tries to leave the video, some have opted for the exit splash type deal taking people to a trial but others then redirect you to a more traditional sales copy.

We are also starting to see it used more and more in IM.

Amish's latest video did it and I've seen Frank K using it IIRC.

It may not last forever, it may be that people get very turned off with being forced into watching, especially when they realise that ultimately a price and a product is going to be put infront of them anyway.

      But for now... it works.

I mail affiliate offers all the time and guess what affiliate programs
have the best EPC or dollars per click. Video salesletters.

On a typical salesletter, I see an average of $1.50 a click

On a Video salesletter, I see an average of $5.00 a click

So to me the answer is very clear. The numbers don't lie.

Love them or Hate them - They WORK!

If you have a offer that is a long sales letter, I'd suggest
that you split test it. If it wins run with it :-)

I watched the diet solution and it struck me that it was just like one of the those infomercials you see on late night TV.

Infomercials have proved very successful so I would think they would do just as well on the internet.

Tell ya what, I hate waiting on vids... his gave me that spinning thing and I waited a minute it started, and then did it again. I left. I'm on a T1 office connection too.

It's still a big problem to be addressed, and there's no easy solution yet.

In fact, I DONT follow most of the big names using video exclusively, because I can't stand waiting around. I am busy and have the attention of a 3 year old. I love that they aren't crummy low-fi vids, but at the same time it's super hard to have quick delivery of that level of quality.

Still, I use video though myself, but I wonder sometimes if I should get transcripts made of every video I do. I don't watch a lot of blog posts, because sometimes I'd really rather read a message. Especially when I'm in a public setting.

As for the OP it's not all that new....it's just a little more common now.

You know, I've been watching Ryan's video sales letters from some time now, and I've been experiencing this same thing for MONTHS. I guess you just have to pause the video, let it load for a bit, then finally be able to watch it.

I just wonder how many other people experience the same thing and end up leaving his pages out of frustration. I can't figure out why this happens, since he's using amazons web services which is supposedly ultra fast...maybe someone else can fill me in here.

This is the best way to sell - you make it real, interest the buyer and make him watch the entire vid/presentation - brilliant.

As per the OP's description Jason ?

I've only recently , (approximately 6 months or so) seen the type which encode the buy button to only appear after a set point during the video.

Plain ol' video sales copy, sure, been going for years, but the format described by the OP , I've seen only "recently".

Simon is right - this type of sell-page appeared recently. It's not an usual video sales-page.
Here, the most important element is the 'add to cart' button that "magically" appears at the end of the video.

I am aware that this method irritates a lot of people. For example popups are annoying , but they are still being used - because they work. I guess it's the same thing with this video sales-page format with no buy buttons.

I think these videos are different from what we've seen in the past.

It's quite simply the best way to grab a prospects attention and turn them into a customer, that's my opinion anyway.

I don't think it's new but it's the "new cool thing to do" right now since there has been some recent training on it.

The only thing I don't like (as the consumer) is that I've had to play through this one video THREE times now in order to buy the product! The form doesn't pop-up until the end of the video which is fine but the first time I just clicked "buy it now" and didn't realize I had to enter my name and email first. (Me getting excited to buy and just looking for a button quickly instead of reading!) And then the second time through Firefox crashed on me and when it restored I had to go through the video again. So I've been trying to order the product for over an hour.

Maybe the third time IS the charm...wish me luck!

  • I think video is a very potent tool for marketing these days, since it is very visual, creates a viral effect and people can easily get the message the sender or creator is driving at. Social media is reinventing itself.

I'm working on trying out several videos. I found the two that convert the best are:

A: "I was in your situation, then I discovered this product, and now all my problems are gone"

B: "In order to be great at X you need several things. (list them) I am going to show you how to do the very first thing to get you started right away"

I'm promoting the diet solution program right now, but the sales conversion from their video so far is only 0.2% from qualified visitors (not PPC). Not sure why the conversion is so low, the order form impressions are much higher - 3.6%.

Seems like a slick trick to me. If I was looking for information, back in the day, a lot of times I'll jump out of a site that looked as if it was trying to sell me something.

I wasn't in the “buying mindset”. I was on a fact finding mission and I didn't want to here about how “wonderful you are” or “how great your stuff is.” I just wanted my problem salved. I think after you prove that you have the answer I would be more willing to buy... so I can see how this would work. I'd actually love know how to do this.

I haven't experienced a direct convergence but have seen these sells pages and would think they would prove to be more effective simply because you're able to get your message across while preventing the prospect from rushing to find out the price! Almost like having a Car Dealership/Lot with no prices of the cars, (Prevents Sticker Shock) the prospects is forced to listen to and ask the sales rep for the price. Makes for a easier close. I have yet to launch my own product but my partner has and he uses this tactic exceptional well!!!

    This gives me an idea...

Do you guys think that using a video on my REVIEW sites would be a better way to get the word across than expecting the reader to go through paragraphs of text? Hmmm : )

I strongly suggest you use a MPEG4 codec for your video and amazon s3 for hosting. They give the most functions. Check out my video sales page - Internet Video Marketing

I have been using an appearing div with the buy button with great success! The idea is not just to increase conversions, but reduce refunds and returns.

When the customer learns what you are actually selling before they pounce on the BUY NOW button, they are less inclined to say, "I thought it was going to be different..." and ask for your MBG offer.
