Anyone used mailchimp?

Mailchimp is an autoresponder service that is free for under 500 subscribers, then $30 a month from 500-2500. Obviously its budget email marketing, but anyone used this or know anything about it?

It will be what I use when I get around to setting it up. You have to be careful how you word your messages as they frown on some home based businesses, IM etc. I'll have to brush up on that to remember just what not to say.

There are some very good reviews on Mail Chimp on this forum. Thus the reason I'm going to use them.

I have used the free version and it does its job I guess, very limited to 500 subscribers I think. But I would purchase the real license if I had the need for a service.

I believe it's not very friendly towards affiliate marketing......

    I myself use

    aweber
    getresposne
    sendreach

Autoresponders are required for serious businesses. Don't go the free/cheap way on that.

We have used Mailchimp and aweber.
mailchimp - yes its free up to a point but can become expensive depending on your list size. Also they are picky about affiliate marketing, gambling sites etc. Once you get our head around it the user interface is quite good and you can create some really nice looking emails. The downside is that there is no automation so if you are using a sales funnel and want to un subscribe someone from a prospect list onto a buyers list when the buy you have to do this manually which is just unworkable.

Aweber is the one to use long term as it covers all the bases for us. But if you are just starting out mailchimp is a free way of getting going - just be aware that if you then want to import your list into Aweber they have to approve it to get it in there.
