Blog Commenting Correctly

I got a question about blog commenting correctly. Lets say I have found about 4-5 blogs in my niche. 2 with nofollows and 3 with dofollows. Would it be advised to participate on those on a weekly bases. Then dropping in a link whenever relevent?

Confused?

I completely agree with this. I try to always add to the blog post rather than just drop my link.

And what you said about commenting on a handful, I've found that if you go back and comment on the same blogs you can get greater results in terms of building relationships. Now whether you want to do this depends on your project, but if you build a relationship with the blogger before you drop your links, they're much more likely to accept the links than if they just see you once and never again.

I would suggest when you post a comment, read the post several times and post something useful about that particular post. You dont have to always include a link, but every so often have a link in there.

I get a lot of comments on some of my blogs, I will accept a post if its a decent comment.

Firstly comment on high trafficed blog in your niche and also other useful blogs in the niche.

And one more great tip: bookmark the blog post immediately after you have posted your comment. It helps because, A) you'll comment will benefit B) the blog owner will accept your link easier if you bookmark his blog.

For the moment any comment with a link that you manage to drop on a blog will benefit you. Sometimes it gives you direct traffic from the readers of that blog. And anyway it makes value for SE.

But I've read that Google is going to lower value of blog comments links. I believe they'll do that while starting Caffeine. Anyway for the moment blog commenting brings value.

Do not worry about "No follow" or "Do follow" but be sure to stay relevant and add value on your comment.

I would only stick to a handful, 10 max but try to focus more on 4-5 of those 10.

If the readers like your comments you will get a lot more traffic than just adding the odd link here there and everywhere once or twice a month.

    I agree with Marhelper

Don't worry about "No Follow" or "Do Follow" when commenting. Just be sure that the blog is getting traffic (look for how many comments they get, Alexa ranking etc) and make your comments relevant and ensure they add value.

That way you'll get VISITORS that are targeted which is far better than just commenting to improve your SERPs

Yeah. I wouldn't ever advise someone to only comment on a blog just because they have follow in place.

It's all about building relationships and not backlinks and chasing the green fairy dust.

Realistically you can find lots of blogs within your niche but only a handful will be ones you visit on a regular basis.

I try to think of commenting as adding more value to the conversation and post

There is absolutely nothing wrong with dropping your link into another persons blog if it is in the same niche I feel, it is half expected but value must be created.

What may happen in the future is other people will link from your blog to their own and you must accept this, blogging is more about one mans journey to become rich on his own, without the network your site will die so take advantage of what it is like a zebra on the plains with a lion licking its chops at you.

Strength and safety in numbers if you didn't get the analogy

Affiliate marketing and building niche websites is all about one persons and their struggle alone, blogging is completely different, you need interaction which is why people specifically make these nice do-follow blogs in the first place, they add value by pulling people to them and building them into authoritive sites easier than trying to go it alone.

Yeah blog commenting is a solid way to build some back links to your site. If you want to see some great results then obviously add value to the post your commenting on but also try to find blogs in your niche to comment on which already rank super well in Google. Look for a good PR (PR-checker.info) this will get your a high quality back link.

Also, another strategy is to incorporate the Disqus comment system into your Wordpress blog. Disqus has an option to syndicate your comment to your twitter, facebook, and many other social media sites.

This will keep the conversation going when you make a great post. For example, you reply to an interesting comment, it gets Tweeted out and it peeks peoples interest. They click, read and comment. Thus the process continues to grow and go viral. Well hopefully at least right.

Anyways, hope this helped ya out bro.

Yeah it has helped a lot. I guess my main problem when getting into affiliate marketing was just rushing into stuff without fully digesting it. Also, recently I have come across some really interesting stuff that I kind of like participating with. I feel that I am about to really break into affiliate sales soon. I am happy with my 500 a month, but I can do so much more!

That and I try not to get to much into dofollows and nofollow links because both will bring you traffic.

  • If you can add value to the posts, and they clear moderation and generate and ROI then sure go for it. Otherwise you are probably wasting a lot of time as there will be not SEO Gain from multiple postings on the same site.

When you are searching for information, what do you do? You search and find things of interest, and maybe agree, or disagree with what they are saying. You did not pay any attention to how much traffic they were getting. Do the same thing now. You are working on quality backlinks, and locating people who might be searching the same way you are. They are just as likely to land on that post as you did.

When you search, did you find only 5 or 10 webpages of interest to you in your favorite topics, or did you look at more? Most times, if we love the niche, or topic, we dig deep and go to many sites. Is this what your market does?

I'd search for blogs in my niche that are interesting, have a twist I either agree with, or disagree with, and then comment my thoughts either expanding on their idea, or giving a different idea for the blogger and his readers to consider, in a friendly manner, and leave a link if appropriate. If linking to your product page does not seem right for this instance, link to a profile page in one of your Social Media areas, which does link on to your money site.

If you find the post of value, then social bookmark it on at least one or two services. This helps the Search Engines travel on to your sites through the links you left.

If you work just on the basis of interest, you may end up commenting on many more blogs, some of them on very rare occasions.

On the high traffic ones, you can comment more often, and don't only comment, try to start up a friendship with the blog owner. The relationship could build into something very good for both of you. The power of two authorities in a niche agreeing and disagreeing with each other is going to be more powerful than a lone voice. People like differing views, and ideas.

The idea of relationship building should also extend to people you find who are highly interesting, but have not built a following yet. They are potentially a rising star, and you both can help accelerate each others success.

I agree with this, if possible also try to contact them and ask if they have any hints on how you should proceed with your blog, put their blog in your blogroll to permanently point to their blog and it will show you know what you are doing...

Pointing to authoritative links can only hep you as they will be more likely to link back

Add to the blog and try to join the ones related to your niche. Return every now and then and add more quality comments. Don't force the link... Just drop it if it is justified.

A great method for getting quality blog backlinks is by using google alerts. Just go ahead and create a fresh email account for google alerts and your niche. Select your keywords and let it run for a week. Log into you google alerts email account, and you will have tons of new on topic places to submit your comments.

Quality over Quantity -- People do actually read your comments and click on the name field.
