E-mail marketing; how to start at it?

I call myself a noob at marketing when really i've been at the game for quite a while now(being three years or so) I still haven't implemented email marketing though and know how effective it is.

I would just like to know how to go about collecting the emails, are there are any good wordpress widgets for it? (My site runs on WP) I know about aweber.com and that will be the service i sign up for, but i just need a technique to get people on a list. I can outlook email market.

    All you have to do is ask them to sign up for your newsletter. If you provide quality content and information they need they will opt-in.

    It's that easy...

    They need an incentive to sign up too. You may get a few subscribers for "sign up for my newsletter" if you are offering good content. But you will grow your list MUCH faster if you offer an incentive - depending on what your site is maybe you offer a discount on something or a free ebook or something else free that would give people a reason to sign up. Aweber is a great service to use. They have completely renovated their opt-in forms which I think help increase the opt-in rate as well. Good luck!
