    Namecheap and Name.com both offer free private reg.
    Here's the latest Namecheap coupon.

      I started using Netfirms earlier this year. Their first year price for domains with whois privacy included is $7.99 and then $9.95 per year thereafter. I like their control panel and the lack of gimmicks in their sales process.

      With Namecheap I thought it was only free for the first year, something like $2 a year after that. Did I miss something (again?)

      Even at that it is still better than godaddy. I understand they charge $10 a year.

        I use all the cheap guys. Powweb is worth looking at. A free domain and 4.88 a month if you do a year at once. I would not say it's great, but hey, you did say cheap.

    My 2 favorites...

    1and1.com = $6.99 .com, .net, .org for 1st year, then $8.99

    domaincheapsters.com = $7.49 for .com, $6.49 for .net, and $7.99 for .org

    Can't go past Namecheap. Private WHOIS for free, excellent customer service and a permanent discount once you've got 50 domains in your account, no mucking about with coupon codes.

    I use 1and1.com.... Seem to be the cheapest, and it's easy to set-up redirects etc. Then I host with Hostgator, who have excellent support.

    Namecheap for domains, Routhost for web hosting. I only use them and they are great, I don't like Godaddy.

    I use 1&1 as well, it has consistently been the cheapest/best option over the last 5 years. Private registration is free.

    If cheap private registration is a priority to you, then I'd definitely stick with namecheap, as all their domains come with free private registration.
