Has the FTC effected your sales yet?

As you probably already know the FTC requires some type of disclaimer if you make any kind of recommendations or testimonials on a product you're promoting.

Do you think adding this disclaimer will make a difference in sales? Have you noticed a decrease in sales since adding a disclaimer to your review site?

I recently added a disclaimer to my reviews but it's too soon to tell if it will have an impact.

  • You can't be serious... Tom From Myspace picture?

"...This system will finally give us the break that we need"

Your system is exactly what I've been needing. I'm a college student and I work a part time job so I don't have much time or money for that matter to be building websites and all that other crap.

Your system allows me to bypass all the BS and get straight down to the nitty gritty which is getting traffic and sales.

You sig file link is EXACTLY why the FTC got involved.

I tell the truth in every review I do so I don't worry about the FTC.

    • Thanks for reply but you really could've kept that one in your colon. I really don't know what you're talking about or what your point is.

The link in my sig file points to a great product and a great service and as long as customers are happy that's all that matters.

    • My bad IQ. What you were saying sounded like a drunken slur to me at first.

I'm glad you pointed that out. I gave away 3 review copies here in the forum. Hopefully they give me some good feedback and let me use their testies on my site.

  • How ironic....
  • Hey I dont knock anyones stuff in here but get serious man! Tom from Myspace??? Everyone knows who that guy is. Change that pic to something else. Lol! Thats pretty funny though!
  • To respond to the OP's ORIGINAL post...

So long as you weren't doing anything unethical in the first place, the FTC rules shouldn't be decreasing your sales.

Just follow the rules and run a legitimate business. This may be a revolutionary idea for a few people out there, but there IS money to be made. Not only is it stable, you won't be stepping in the FTC's cornflakes.

  • So you gave your ebook away in exchange of a testimonial and got one from "Tom" the myspace guy? LOL

Too bad you didn't know who he was, not everyone is familiar with myspace. I would say getting nothing would be better than getting that. You took it down fast, I didn't get to see that testimonial from Tom. Was looking forward to a laugh.
  • Can you please tell me what is the disclaimer needed?
    Regards
