Your question is somewhat broad and I'm not completely clear on exactly what you're asking, but I'll do my best to help out.

In reality, you can sell $500-$1000 e-books to almost any market. You can sell them to executives, managers, investors, and doctors. Now, a $500 e-book (can be) a bit tougher to sell than a $500 video series or 5-month training program @ $100/mo. But in any case, here goes.

People pay $500-$1000 for information because they believe they can get an exponentially greater return on investment from the application of that information.

If you want to sell a product for $500, you need to provide $500 worth of information (or at least build the perceived value of your product to be much greater than $500).

First, you need to understand what's worth $500 to your market. If you don't have a clear understanding of what they're willing to pay $500 for, it will be extremely difficult to make a high-ticket e-book they'll be willing to invest in.

My advice to you would be to research your market (first you need to pick one) and understand:[*]What they're already buying[*]What their needs are[*]Where they have pain

Those are just the basics but it will give you a (very basic) foundation to launch your product.

The other thing I mentioned is perceived value.

Now, imagine for a second that you're selling dating e-books.

Obviously your information isn't going to give them a monetary return on investment. But the idea of waking up next to someone who cares dearly about you every morning, the idea of never being alone, the new-found self confidence your experience - that is worth $500 to nearly anyone who doesn't have it, isn't it?

The same idea applies when selling business-related topics.

You need to understand what's important to them and where they're feeling unfulfilled. I'm going to try staying on topic and avoid starting a copywriting discussion, but strong copy is critical in building perceived value.

Remember this: the more clarity you can give you customers about the results they will experience, the better your chances you'll sell high-ticket info products.

Really it just comes down to what your market is willing to pay for.

I don't know if that helped or not. If you can help me better understand who you're targeting, I can try giving you some more specific ideas.

One suggestion of that kind of more expensive info/video product is from Perry Marshall ... a great teacher about Google Adwords (I really like his emails and updates) ... perrymarshall.com ... I believe you can become an affiliate to sell his products for free.

If you asking how to find markets that you can sell a $1000 dollar info product to then it is simple.

type: niche + seminar into Google.

If you can find several multi thousand dollar seminars then the market will most likely support an expensive info product.

What it boils down to is this:

People don't seek goals or to "fix" something.. They want the change in circumstances they believe they will receive after they have achieved their goal.

Ex: A Online Business Entrepreneur.. Doesn't want the money, but what he really want is the freedom, the status.. The change in circumstances when he accomplished the goal of making $10000 online. Being respected and admired by friends and family.. Go from "nobody" to "somebody".

So if you can help them to achieve this change in circumstances (with your ebook, service or whatever) you can charge ridiculous amounts for it.

    Hope this was some perspective

    Good Luck!
