Don't Post Your Email Address

I apparently did that for someone a few days ago. What a mistake. I'm getting deluged with spam offers for every get-rich-quick scheme, dog toenail trimmer, time share, and herbal suppliment you can imagine.

Learn from my mistake. I'm so dumb.

Those spammers have bots that pick away ALL e-mails from anywhere on the internet. This is why people use spaces and different characters inbetween the different parts of the e-mail address. However I believe some of the bots have been updated to pick some of these up also!

    Examples:
    mike AT gmail.com
    mike @ gmail.com
    mike[at]gmail.com
    mike * gmail.com

There's all kinds of variations I have seen. Hope that helps!

Yeah, I'm aware of the automated harvesting. I think it's different here - I've posted my email publicly in other (non-marketing) forums for years without seeing this type of immediate response.

Gmail has a pretty kick ass spam filter.

I used to be flooded with spam, and I used to be super paranoid about hiding my email address and sticking only to spam bots, but now I post that thing out in the open.

Clickbank requires you to post an email address publicly on you where you can be reached. Direct email address, no optin form.

If you post your resume online, it better have an email.

Posting your email address is a non issue these days with Gmail.

Gmail completely blocks ALL spam for me! (Unless a list I am subscribed to is shared with other profiteers without my apparent knowledge which is just cruel!) It's excellent. I have never had a better spam blocking service.
