question about Clickbank

A couple of days ago I posted a thread about making my first sale with a Clickbank product. It wasn't a lfe-changing amount at $26.30, but at least it is a start!

I did make a "sale" a few months ago, when I bought a product through my own link, but the money just eventually dissapeared off the screen, and I never received a check. Ok, it serves me right for trying to cheat. My payment threshold was set at the default $100 at the time it went in, but I changed it to $10 a couple of days later. It has been set at the $10 level since then.

Was the reason why I did not receive any money the first time because I re-set the threshold after the payment had gone in, and am I right in assuming that I should now receive anything over $10 per month?

    Hi

sorry to disappoint you but you wont get the check straight away under the terms of clickbank you must have 5 different card payments and have at least 2 different payment styles not including paypal or something similar to this.

so you need 5 people to buy using something other than paypal and have used a couple of different types i.e. 1 payment by visa, 1 by mastercard and 3 by american express for example.

So be patient and generate some more sales

    kind regards

    Same thing happened to me.

I made a few sales and watched all the money dissappear slowly since you get charged $2(?)/month on your account with CB. Haven't made a sale through a Mastercard yet.

      Hi all,

Thanks for the advice, although it is not exactly what I wanted to hear

I just had a look at the Clickbank Customer Distribution Requirement (I suppose that I should have done this first), and it seems that they want sales made with a minimum of 5 different credit card numbers and at least 2 different payment methods, which can include PayPal.

So does this mean that, even when your earnings vanish from the screen, if you can meet the Customer Distribution Requirement - then you will still receive the money? If so, is there a way to check any balance that is not visible on the screen?

Another thing that concerned me was the bit about dormant accounts. If you had some money in your account but failed to earn anything for 3 months, then they charge you $1 per day, and it gets a lot worse after 6 months and twelve months. So does this include money that is no loger visible on the Account Home screen? If you did get into this situation, would they only charge you until your funds had been used up, or could you eventually be owing them money?

Sorry for all these questions, but I haven't needed to be too concerned with these issues until now.

          Hi Alexa,

Not so, Dave. It's $1 per pay period. A pay period is 2 weeks.
I'm sorry, I mis-read that bit, I thought it seened a bit excessive!

I don't understand why your earnings have "vanished from the screen" and can't answer this without understanding that
What I meant by that statement is that on my account home screen, it gives the daily sales snapshot for a 2 week period, then it shows a weekly sales snapshot in a box above for 5 weeks, and as the time goes by, the amount that you have made dissapears from view. I guess that if I have a more detailed look, I will be able to find it somewhere, it is just that I am not that familiar with it yet.

Regarding the CDR, it's easy to get round (and you only have to do it once, anyway). Just have a few friends/relatives buy some little $3/$4 high commission product (there are some - the last time I looked there was a chocolate cake recipe e-book for $3 or something) using appropriate credit-cards and suddenly you're qualified.
Thanks a lot for sharing this with me. It is a great way to get around this problem.

There are no circumstances under which you have to pay them money that isn't in the account. If you "owe" them money (e.g. over refunds after you've been paid), they'll always deduct that from future commissions.
That's a relief, it isn't sounding quite as scary now.

          Thanks again

          Dave
